What does "TMI" in thread title mean?

As I post mostly from work, I don’t want to open a thread with possibly objectional material in it. I see the abbreviation “TMI” alot and the threads seem to be mostly sex related, I just just wondered what the acronym meant.

Too Much Information. Often seen in a thread dealing with bodily functions or messy personal problems.

Oh. I thought “Tough Minded Individualist,” when in Great Debates forum, and “ToMorrow Is another day” when in Cafe Society…

FAQ - technical issues - please read this BEFORE posting a question

TMI is a technical issue?

Technically no. But one should employ the proper technique when using an acronym. I like to view that nugget of information as the Easter Egg of the Technical FAQ, a small, delicate surprise nestled amongst the dry, boring factual data in that thread.

And anyway people should read the FAQ before their first post in ATMB, and revisit them periodically to see if anything new has been added. This may seem like a chore, but no! make it fun!

When I see the FAQ thread titles, I gently caress them with my eyes before even clicking on the thread title. I then carefully press my mouse button, and pause over each post, whispering every word gently into my ear. Oh the ineffable pleasure!

And when I find a thread in which it is appropriate to mention the FAQ, what ecstacy! What pinnacle of emotion! Slowly, slowly, savouring the moment, I go back to the thread, delicately stroke the relevant post with my sensitive fingertips when retrieving the post number, return to the original thread, and sensuously type in the reminder, lingering over each keystroke. I let my finger hover carefully over the submit button, and then… and then… when I press it… ohhh… ahhh… the fulfillment! the sens of pent-up energy being released! I feel spent, drained, exhausted yet content, nay, satiated… Of all moderator pleasures, this is surely the greatest and most holy…

wait, was that … TMI?

Do you and your thread need to be alone? I mean, really, get a room.

Why should we hide our affection? The love that dared not speak its name will now proclaim it to all and sundry! I say, shout it from the rooftops. Let the whole world share in our pleasure. Fling wide the closet doors!

Arnold, do you need a cigarette?

I"m still trying to work out how Arnold managed to whisper in his own ear… ;^)

hmmm, threadlove…
