What does today's Google Search Logo represent?

Mods: Please move if this is the wrong forum.

I can usually figure out Google’s ‘special’ graphics, but haven’t figured out todays.
Anyone with a good guess?

Thanks,
HillKat

It’s a work by Jeff Koons.

Usually you can find out by clicking on it.

"About this artist

American artist Jeff Koons burst onto the international art scene in the 1980s. He creates iconic work such as Michael Jackson and Bubbles, Rabbit, and Puppy. He is exhibited throughout the world."

My thought was that they’re supposed to be maracas, representing Cinco De Mayo.

According to wiki’s article on Koons :

He rendered a drawing similar to his famous “Tulip Balloons” for placement on the front page of the Internet search engine Google. The drawing greeted all who visited Google’s main page on April 30, 2008 (that day being Queen’s Day in the Netherlands).

THANKS!

I can count on the Dopers for any and all information.

Aside from that, they’re also promoting the ability to use art on your “iGoogle” page.

Really? I came in here to complain that my iGoogle page doesn’t have any art on it. Have I been missing it all this time? I have to use iGoogle because google.com redirects me to some funny squiggly letters AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY MEAN!! Also, it says something about .jp.

Is there a way to get to google.com so I can see the art that occasionally pops up?

Ah! I couldn’t tell if they were tulips or lolipops. I guess balloons and the candy do sort of look alike.
