Obligatory skeptic response: Following SuperGnat’s lead, how 'bout giving the list of descriptions without the months, and have people pick the one that matches them best, and see if it corresponds to their birth month.
But, heck, that might reveal these descriptions to be unspecific, facile, contradictory, and in general pointless, and what fun would that be.
This is an example of the Forer effect, by the way.
As an interesting side-note, this isn’t quite right. Most people are sophisticated enough to recognize unmitigated flattery, so a good astrologer / psychic / medium / con-artist will also include a few somewhat negative traits. Stubbornness and shyness are very popular, because they are both traits we all exhibit sometimes, and neither is inexcusable.
