I picked it up in a gift shop in Lincoln the first time my boyfriend and I went out to visit his sister.
I have another favorite that I don’t use, it has our local hockey team’s logo on it and it’s autographed in silver Sharpie by one of my favorite players. It’s a pen holder on my desk at work.
My favorite is an over-sized lavender mug with a black and white cat on it. On one side the cat is wide awake, with the word Cat-ffeinated, and on the other side the cat is sleeping with the word DeCat-ffeinated. My daughter gave it to me for Christmas 6 or 7 years ago, and it’s been my favorite ever since.
I have two. My primary one is a Straight Dope mug I got in a Xmas gift exchange that the Dallas Dopers had years and years ago (Thanks, Zyada!); it has the SD logo on one side, and on the other is a Slug Signorino illustration of a wild-haired, crazy-eyed face with a manic grin, titled “Coffee Mug.”
If that one is in the dishwasher, I’ll use a black mug I bought from my favorite jazz club, Murry’s. If you click through that link, you’ll see the Murry’s logo, which is a scribbly, Meiersdorf-y trumpet player; my mug is black with Scribbly Trumpet Man in white on one side and “Murry’s – Good Food, Good Jazz” on the other.
Since I’ve been studying a certain German terrorist group for about five years, Andreas Baader is on mine. I like drinking wormwood tea on Christmas morning while listening to dirty carols.
“Size does matter”. It’s the biggest mug I could find and holds about 600ml.
My favorite one is a mug I got at the Museum of Monterey in Monterey, CA. It has the USS Macon’s patch on it.
At least, that’s my favorite one currently. I’ve got lots of mugs, most of which tend to stay packed in boxes until such day that I actually have room for 30+ coffee mugs.

I am an atheist.
I have two that I alternate … they fit in the cupholder of my van. They are tall and tapered with a handle large enough for me to stick my whole hand in (like these Parked Domain). One is blue with polka dots and streamers and says “Happy Boss’s Day” in a big yellow star. The other has a trio of snowmen on each side. I don’t care what they look like - just that they’re useful!
