What's on your coffee mug?

Truly mundane. Yet for some a form of expression.
Here at work I have two-A black one with a picture of Malificent(evil fairy,WD Sleeping Beauty). On the other side it says "I look good in black-it matches my mood.

The other has a gradual progression of Snoopy and Woodstock laughing around it. Starting with a snicker ending with full blown HA!HA!'s

This is all too embarrassing-My mug at home is a Duran Duran mug.

So, what holds your coffee or tea?

My wife gave me the one I use at work, for my birthday about 3 years ago. It says:

“40 is not old - if you’re a tree.”

You mean you haven’t yet bought your Straight Dope Coffee Mug? For Shame!

Pimping for the site brought to you by the Ed Zotti Fan Club. Est. 1-00.

Livin’ on Tums, vitamin E and Rogaine

Mine mug is hand-fired clay. It’s grey with brown flecks and has a blue watercolor rectangle overlapping a green watercolor rectangle with a drawing of a coffee cup ‘n’ saucer and the words “Sister Sludge.”

Sister Sludge is a small coffee shop in the building next to mine. It’s run by triplet sisters.

Well, one of them is the “vi reference mug.” http://www.geekcheat.com/
Then I have another one shaped like a borg from Star Trek. (Can you guess what my profession is?)

Finally, the one I use the most at work is a big mug with Warner Bros. characters.

My work coffee/tea/water cup is an insulated mug that Amazon.com sent me a couple years ago. I figured that was a sign I spent too much money there. But it’s a cool mug.

To be an inconspicuous coffe drinker at work, I use one with our logo and name on it. At home, however, my favorite is my big, blue mug in the shape of the Genie’s head from Alladin. I also use a mug I got for donating blood, black with American Red Cross or something like that.

Mine is from the Mystery Spot in St Ignace!

That place is spooky! :stuck_out_tongue:

The Mystery Spot? In California? The one with all the billboards? What the Hell is that place about, anyway? I lived in CA for five years, always saw the billboards and have always wondered.

Looks like dried coffee. Mmm, plus something green and furry near the handle.

Plunging like stones from a slingshot on Mars.

A real geek doesn’t need a vi reference but I might get one anyway.

I try to keep a rotation. I have one with my old navy sqadron’s logo - a two tailed, left handed tomcat and the motto “anytime baby.” One with the NYC police department logo, and a green one with Arizona FAA (family assistance administration) from when my mom worked for the food stamp department. Right now I’m using one I got with a Kahlúa gift set.

At work I used a Highlander: The TV series mug (unashamed HL geek here). At home I use a nice big mug with a picture of a cheetah on it.

Catrandom

I mostly forgo my nice matched sets in favor of my Coca-cola coffee cup, or the one that has a picture of Bowen and my little cousin Cody on it.

“…being normal is not necessarily a virtue. It rather denotes a lack of courage.”

I’ve got 4, with no pictures. Just words and logos
[list][li]Mesa State College (my alma mater)[/li][li]AE Transfer Program w/ the US Navy Seal (which looks like an eagle :)) This is a project I worked on at my first job[/li][li]CMIS, a computer program I worked on at my second job[/li][li]A Lockheed-Martin mug w/ logo (current job)[/li]

Judges 14:9 - So [Samson] scraped the honey into his hands and went on, eating as he went. When he came to his father and mother, he gave some to them and they ate it; but he did not tell them that he had scraped the honey out of the body of the lion.

no mug. antique, porcelain, footed cup & saucer, handpainted w/ several pieces of fruit–what you might imagine a teacup would look like. people regularly comment when i go downstairs for coffee about how civilized it looks. whenever i do break one, i have a half dozen more at home of different sorts.

I don’t have an evil side. Just a really, really apathetic one.

Stains… also the D.A.R.E logo which is a Drug and Alcohol awareness program for teen agers. Its mega big so I dont have to run back and forth to the pot so many times.

We are, each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another

Mine plugs a soft drink.
“Enjoy Mello Yello”

What I can’t hear you??

I’m just kidding Cant. I have until now resisited the urge to say that.

Anyway, no its in St.Ignace just north of the Mackinaw Bridge in Yooper Land, Michigan!
And its a cool place where gravity is all messed up for one reason or another…I could tell you all more but, then it wouldn’t be a mystery huh?? I definatly recommend it for shits and giggles if nothing else!

I have two favorites;

one with Mickey Mouse in black tie and tails surrounded by the words PIZAZZ, and then the definition: pizazz(pi zaz)n. vigor, style, flair, etc.

the other a porcelain mug hand-painted with irises in a Van Gogh style that my good friend painted for me.

I really try to be good but it just isn’t in my nature!
