My current favorite mug doesn’t say anything. It’s got space invaders on it. Heat sensitive space invaders that appear when your pour your hot beverage of choice in.
Previous favorite mug said “Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital” on it, and the one before that (which I sadly dropped and broke) said “RTFM”.
My favorite one for at home is the Notre Dame 1988 undefeated season mug (it’s big). The one I take in the truck with me is one that has different scenic/ recreation areas in the Great Smoky Mountains (it fits my cup holder perfectly).
Over the years, I’ve aquired a collection of coffee mugs (at one time, it was 100+), mostly from places where I’ve traveled.
I’ve got two favorites. One is white and on one side has the diagram used by Euclid to demonstrate the pythagorean theorem, and a bold Q.E.D. on the other side, and is wonderfully amusing if you’re a giant math nerd.
The other has this gloriously over-the-top ‘patriotic’ design, with a bald eagle and flags and a yellow ribbon and such, over which is printed “I support our troops more than you do.”
“tea” in various fonts and languages. It holds about 600m and does get used for tea after 5pm.
My work mug holds the same amount but it is double skinned and keeps the coffee hot for over an hour. No writing or pattern.
My favourite used to be a far side : this one in fact but then I gave up smoking and went to a mug with tigers circling it, they are wearing fezes and holding umbrellas in their tails. If it weren’t for the size, it would still be number one mug.
Another favourite hasLaurel Burch cats all round it.
