What does your internet namesake do?

I was bored and decided to look to see what people with the same name as me do.

Mine’s a Bigfoot researcher . Peter Byrne

Any dopers got any interesting namesakes ?

Where the hell am I going to find another Bear Nenno ?!?

The one great thing about my name is that I never had that confusion in school where a teacher would call one student and three "Ashley"s or "Michael"s would answer. He he.

BTW, yes I know I am an uncreative looser and security ignorant for using my real name as a UserName. But like I give a sh*t.

Actually thinking of it there’s probably a lot of people that don’t want to give there real name .

Oh well.

Mine is an actress: Rose Jackson
My name is so common, I don’t mind giving it out.
Rose

Well, one of them is a school teacher in Southern California. One is apparently really into tracing her family tree (which is totally different from mine), and one just had a baby girl in Newton, Mass., on July 19th.

Hmmm, mine is apparently a list of grades or something here
That happens to have the names arranged like so:
Carter ** McBee **
** Ian ** McCormick
Thereby creating the illusion (when boldfaced by a search engine) that it says McBee, Ian

Not all that exciting. Oh well.

There’s a photographer in Britain with my name. Apparently, he’s quite proud of having Keanu Reeves in his portfolio.

Another one is a doll maker in New York.

I am one of a kind. No one shares my name. Lots of people have my first name (Sarah-very common) but none of them have my last name.

A search on my IRL got me four hits on Altavista… and all of them were me

So I am unique, I guess.

My name is very uncommon.

The only one I could find was a high school girl on the east coast. She’s in band. I forget what she instrument plays but that was a long time ago.

Same as with Coldy, all I can find is me.

I probably should have said, “He’s a geophysicist.”

All the other people with my particular spelling of my name that I found are guys! There’s one in a family tree, and another one who started his own company. I did run into another girl with the same name, first and last, as me (but with a different spelling) my sophomore year of high school when we were in the same homeroom. I did get called to serve her in-school suspension, and what fun it was to tell them, “I’m not the Lindsey C. you’re looking for.” They started to write me up for insubordination, but then I explained that she was actually L-y-n-s-a-y C., and they grudgingly let me go back to class.

The most wonderful thing about me is that I’m the only one =)

An Altavista search on my name turned up six hits. Four were me–an old web page of mine that UK never deleted, something from the math department from when I graduated, a picture of me from the UK Med School Humanities Festival, and a response to “News Quiz” in Slate.

One was a Captain in the New York Militia during the Revolutionary War.

The other, oddly enough, is also a doctor–an endocrinologist from Ontario.

Dr. J

I have an uncle named Peter Byrne. Are you related to Maurice Byrne, who lives in Dublin? He married a friend of mine…

Nope , Byrne is a very common name over here.

My first name is not common, and my last name is definitely not a common surname. So I was not the least bit surprised when Altavista just found me. I was hoping maybe I had an evil twin somewhere.

Mine is a job/person from the Ender series. Ender Wiggins is the famous Speaker for the Dead.

One is a programmer for IBM and another one is a computer security manager. And I’m a computer science student. Spooky.
