Mine’s pretty simple… back before I got into the internet, I was a little into AD&D, and I had been looking for a character name that sounded like it would fit in the world I was trying to build… well, Glenoled was that name…
Then, I got into MUD’s, and dug the name out again… and from there, it became my main nick, even though I haven’t MUDded in a couple years…
Pandora is a nickname I’ve had for years…
Basically because all hell tends to break lose where ever I am
(It’s not my fault really…)
My friends call me Juan because I’m always talking spanish and thats the closest they can come to a translation of Jonathan. The DeCuba part comes from an incident that happened back in high school. I was talking spanish with one of my friends and a few random girls decided to ask if I was spanish and I had heard that question a few too many times lately and was getting tired of answering it so I said “No, actually I’m Cuban” very saracastically but they didn’t notice the sarcasm and continued asking me all kinds of questions about life in Cuba even though I’ve never actually been there. I have no idea why they believed a word I said except that they obviously didn’t know anything about Cuba, Cubans, or Cuban-americans. About a week later I made up the name for AOL and have been using it since.
Koffing is the name of one of my favorite Pokemon. Bulbasaur was my first choice, but it was already taken.
When I got AOL like, hmmm, six years ago I think, I had a friend named Barry. His names was Taco4Barry, which I loved, and so we decided to have similiar names. My name is SARAH, but back then, AOL limited it to ten letters. So henceforth Nacho4Sara has been my name. Of course, my AOL is now canceled =( But everyone online still calls me “NACH” or “THE NACH”
I like nachos too.
My initials are DV…
My father’s initials are LV, he runs a business servicing hih-fi and professional sound equipment - naturally he calls himself ELVEE SOUND. It took me some time to come up with my own label, which I use a lot - all of my software is registered to The House of DVous Means. If I ever leave the medical field and start my own business, the words DVous Means are going to be in there somewhere.
May I quote you on this, and use it as my signature here?
Feel free.

I think the OP in this one is long gone
The single part is self explanatory, and while I don’t actually keep files on dates, if I did, the last year would go something like this:
Mr. Personality…great guy but no chemistry. I’m trying to turn him into a friend
Mr. Slut…I truly loved this guy, but he has some really big issues
Mr. Whiney…seems the entire universe got together to shit on this guy
Mr. Desperate…No explanation needed
Mr. Just divorced and still crying about it
Mr. “I’m in love even though we just met an hour ago”
Wow. Now I’m going to be depressed.
I already explained my nick here http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=21439
Mine I took because I know where to fit my pipe.
Honestly, that is what I do for a living, biding my time until I get my journeymans card.
because of very old karma, my soul is still healing, and perhaps always will be, and so it is in a perpetual sling.
came to me while meditating some years ago, have been using it all over the web. especially in video games. if not that i use a name from the Robert Jordan series, 'cause i love the Jordan series
Okay, for all you newbies, I’ll tell it again.
My favorite color is purple (always has been, since I was a little kid). I love teddy bears; also almost any other stuffed critter you can think of, especially bunnies, cats and giraffes. I also really, really like hugs, both giving and receiving them, especially bear hugs!
well, to start with, the word SKUGGI is the icelandic word for “shadow”. I like both the sound and the look of the word, and just added on to it to make it more aesthetically pleasing to me. enjoy.
Katt, spelled that way, has been my nickname since summer camp when I was twelve. To this day, I have no idea why that particular name was chosen, except that a big thing in camp was to give each other nicknames, and the K was for my name IRL.
I think I need a new nickname.
Well, it’s my initials spelled out. Or it was my initials, until I got married. Now it should be Ceejayess, but I can’t get used to that. I like the “yess” part of it though. I could call myself CeejaYESS!!!
Or not.
