What does your username mean?

I’m actually a chess instructor but I wanted to pretend to be something more glamorous.

It’s “Red Shirt” backwards, and a reference to a character of the same name in the Schlock Mercenary webcomic.

Mine is also my name. Peter King Beitz (pronounced “bites”)

My name is Spanish for “The Kabong”.

There is much wrapped up in my name…

神野猫, how I ‘spell’ it in Japanese means god field cat. Which is a perfectly valid Japanese name…in fact, there’s an artist with that name, although she reads
神野 as ‘Jinno’, not ‘Kamino’. It’s also the name of a character I draw and RP.

The origin is an inversion of Nekogami, meaning ‘catgod’, a much more common username, which I used to use, into ‘god’s cat’.

As to why I’ve been using this little galaxy of names for most of the last 15-20 years…

Nyan.

Mine is Swedish for ‘auto mechanic’, which I’m not.

My username is ioioio because io is not searchable, and **ioio **just seems stupid.

My user name means “Boomshanka”, but I spelled it wrong when I registered.

Must a name mean something?’ Alice asked doubtfully.

‘Of course it must,’ Humpty Dumpty said with a short laugh: ‘my name means the shape I am — and a good handsome shape it is, too. With a name like yours, you might be any shape, almost.’

It means I forgot the password to my original username and the associated email, so I created a new account to look up the email from the old account, so I could request a new password. But the email I used for the new account was the same one as the old account, so the mods noticed and when I explained, they cancelled my new account but changed the user name to the old account to the one I used to open the new account. I think.

Anyhow, it’s clear I can’t be trusted with anything more complicated that one letter and one number.

You would go in circles, seeing birds of the day morphing into birds of the night, if I tried to explain my username to you.

I don’t know.

That I didn’t want to drive y’all crazy trying to figure out how to spell the double-r in the word I chopped up.

Mine means I’m the 45th person to register here named S. N. Faulkner.

Beware of the…

It’s also Polish for S N Faulkner.

My IRL name is Kay Aker. People often mistake my name to mean something to do with canoes and such.

Indian.

Minus red.

I always thought it was some mash up of ambivalent invalid.

Mine is the name of a crazy New Zealander who some claim beat the Wright brothers to powered flight. Unfortunately there was not a lot of documentary evidence.

ETA: Mine is self-explanatory now that avatars are allowed.
