It’s very hard for me to post a list of Dopers I appreciate… because what makes this place so special is the gestalt - everyone reading and participating here adds to what makes this place unique and keeps me coming back, even if I get beaten up as one of the minority party!
But… since everyone else is naming names, I will offer a few special notes as well. But there’s no way this list can be anywhere even close to complete, so if I don’t mention you, it’s because I wasn’t smart enough to remember you. Or because I don’t appreciate you after all. 
My brothers at the bar: the recently returned DSYoungESQ, Campion, pravnik, GFactor, Random, Sua Sponte, Cliffy, minty green and of course my ally against pernicious creeping substantive due process, DeweyCheatumUndHowe. You guys keep me involved and researching things just so I won’t sound too dumb.
Polycarp and Diogenes the Cynic for some excellent education in religion and history thereof.
elucidator, RTFirefly, Hentor the Barbarian for some valuable insight into politics and policies.
Left Hand of Dorkness, ten times over, for being perhaps the most cogent and clear rhetor on these boards.
All of the Buffy, Angel, and Firefly crowd, especially Cliffy, again - this time for his kindness in lending out much needed and appreciated videotapes.
Annie-Xmas, for the name, the show it came from, and a kindred spirit in musical theater.
Jay Jay for being passionate about causes, but not blinded by them.
Scott_Plaid, for sticking out an extremely uncomfortable beginning on these boards, finding his niche here, and being a valuable contributor.
And lately, and specially, Anaamika, for warm and happy contributions to threads in general, for a playful spirit in truths and dares, and her appreciation of hard wooden chairs and hairbrushes.

I could never list all the people I depend on here. I know that we all have something to contribute, and singling out the few could discourage the many.
I’m not good at this kind of thing, and I’m bound to leave a bunch of people out and misspell the rest, but still…
Sentient Meat… frighteningly smart, passionate and compassionate. Always worth reading.
Mangetout… wide ranging knowledge and interests, gentle sense of humour, relentlessly pleasant.
Padeye… frequently teaches me cool stuff I didn’t know. Long may he continue!
Broomstick… For all the flying lessons.
Liberal… has been driving me crazy for six years, but in a good way! Nobody has ever forced me to work so hard to figure out why I disagree with them, which in Lib’s case is a lot of the time.
Stranger on a Train… interested in the same stuff as me, communicates it better.
Polycarp… A better human being than I even aspire to be.
Triscadecamus… Ditto. Has made me cry a couple of times. Not saying when.
Una Perrson… Smart and razor sharp, writes with great clarity, has a self-deprecating sense of humour.
tomndebb… One reason I hardly post in GD, is because tomndebb says what I wanted to say, and puts it better.
Larry Mudd… Witty and wise. Larry can cut through two pages of fruitless wrangling with a single paragraph.
Podkayne… Is just lovely! Except when you mention the “T” word.
Doc Cathode… Mainly for fighting nonsense with nonsense of far greater quality, until he was told to stop! Still appreciate it…
Smeghead… A complete goit. Makes me wipe tea off the monitor.
Irishgirl… For being able to debate Irish politics and sexual politics without ending up in the Pit, which is no mean feat.
Giraffe… Is still too fluffy to be a Pit Moderator. I mean, giving people the benefit of the doubt? What’s that all about?
Quadgop the Mercotan… For good, clean, incarcerated fun!
Darwin’s Finch… A bastion against biological ignorance, including mine.
Calmkiwi… And the rest of the antipodeans!
FinnAgain… Knowledgable and erudite. Fights his corner with vigour, but also admits when he’s wrong.
I always forget to mention Homebrew in these kind of threads. Nice guy. Kind of exciteable at times, but I respect him when his view differs from mine, unlike how I view some others. Besides, we don’t differ too much, and he’s a neat guy.

World Eater, always on the exact same political wavelength as I am and argues politics 10 times better than I do.
lonesome loser, flew in under the radar and alerted me to some of the antics of BushCo. that had escaped my attention.
Liberal, he sticks around and takes a beating from a lot of Dopers (a lot of it unwarranted, I feel), but never tucks his tail and runs.
