What Dopers were born in the same year?

1981

I started reading this thread, without noting the date. Composed in my head what I was going to post. Imagine my surprise when I got to page 2 and saw pretty much word for word what I was thinking.

I must be in a rut. . .

Ha ! Senility kicks in, eh?
I really should update the spreadsheet …

Heh, I was wondering how this thread could have gotten 358 replies before I saw it…

Senility, indeed.

Count me in as number two. One of the worst vintages everywhere in the world, so I haven’t been able to celebrate any anniversaries with a good bottle of wine. :frowning:

But, coming from so long long ago, I still, deep down, harbour a sense of wonder about the internet, mobile phones and all the other technological doo-dads we have now.

ETA: Oh dear:

I’m too old to have mess with pages…One should be enough for anyone.

1943 for Gonzomax
1981 for LOUNE…least original etc.

I had LOUNE already, but I put you in there. Right next to Zoe.

Looks like I’m in good company with Astroboy14, Diogenes the Cynic, TroubleAgain, What Exit?, Sampiro, and enginerr_comp_geek at the table from 1966!

I’m from 1978

Brains!!!

Another 1958-er

Well since we’re gonna ressurect this old thing, put me down for 1959. I may have responded the first time but when you get this old, you can chalk it up to old age.

I don’t recall if I’m already here. If not, forged in '55.

1943

That was in the dark days of WWII…still a year to go to D Day…no nuclear weapons…no computers…no birth control pills…no fast food. Big Band music was considered modern and “hip”. Jim Crow in the South, minorities generally considered second class citizens, women were entering the work force for the first time as something other than nurses and teachers. At least in 44/45 gas and other things were rationed; I still remember this and still have my ration book.

Folks were lucky to live to retirement at age 65, and were “old”; in fact most didn’t live to enjoy many years of life after retirement.

I’ll spare you all of my old codger memories of what the world has done since 1943…

Fortunately the world has changed.

Pretty neat shiny world I live in now!

I forgot to say “Hi” to Gonzomax and Zoe! Are there any other 1943 folks?

Born on the tail end of 1968…sadly, not to hippie parents.

Right before the moon launch, and I slept through hurricane Camille.

I share the exact date of birth as Russell Crowe, but I don’t throw phones (and I’ve never ever kissed Meg Ryan).

PS- The world is a happier place for both of those facts.

Same here.

It was a very good year.

Sidenote, I was born the same week as Orlando Bloom.
