A great year, arguably the start of the golden age of American automotive excessiveness: the first year of the tri-Chevy’s, the first year of Virgil Exner’s Forward Look styling across the board at Chrysler, and new designs at Ford, too. The beginning of the finned era, which would soon grow amazingly by 1959-1960. Ah yes, chrome ruled my boyhood!
