The doctor gave me Vicaden, the same drug Green Bay Packer Quarterback Brett Favre got hooked on and ended up in rehab.
What exact effect are these things supposed to have on me?
I took 2 of them and nothing!
3 hours later I took 2 more. Still, nothing.
What did he get hooked on, the thrill of swallowing large pills? I’m in pain, and I’m on vacation this week…I want a buzz and I want this pain to go away.
What are these things supposed to do? Did I get a placebo?
It’s SUPPOSED to make the pain go away. I never got much pain relief or a buzz from that either. I had some breathing problems while taking it, which was the only effect I noticed. I had to get the doc to give me something else.
I don’t know what’s wrong, but I hope you feel better soon.
Vicaden is a combination of hydrocordone (which is something like synthetic codeine) and some other analgesic, I believe acetaminophen. Hydrocordone is supposed to have the same painkilling effects as codeine, but without the narcotic effects, but for many people (myself included) it still provides a pleasant buzz. If you didn’t get a buzz on that much Vicaden (I am a big guy and two of them will make me feel like I am floating sometimes) you are probably one of the people it doesn’t have a narcotic effect on.
