I’ve been wondering this for a while now. I think he’s a pretty good actor and he just slips right out of the spotlight. What happened?

You know, I thought he had died a few years ago after Lethal Weapon 4, no joke. I just checked up on this and it turns out he is in the new movie “Be Cool,” with John Travolta.
A friend mentioned something about this the other day. Apparently, Joe Pesci really is an Asshole in real life(so he’s not really acting) and thus nobody really likes him in hollywood.
Or something like that.
He got fucked at the drive thru.
Some people seem to get work in cycles. He may be one of them.
If true, that’s a shame. He’s one of my guilty favorites.
Wow, right up until NoClueBoy’s post, I was mistaking Joe Piscepo (sp?) for Joe Pesci. Thought it was a rather bizarre question, too.
So I have to suffer through a John Travolta nightmare to see Joe Pesci? I’m a fan, but not that big of a fan. Who would hitch their wagon to that star? Eeks. :smack:
I’ve heard the same thing as HPL. Pesci’s apparently so difficult that nobody wants to work with him and he’s not a big enough star that people have to work with him.
I just saw Be Cool, and didn’t see Pesci in it anywhere. It’s a forgettable movie, made much better by the presence of The Rock and Vince Vaughn.
The book wasn’t that good either: the music industry just doesn’t make as good a target as Hollywood. Elmore Leonard phoned that one in, probably in the hope of being able to sell the movie rights for more on the back of Get Shorty.
Isn’t he also a total one trick pony? Sure, if you need a short, angry, italian, he’s your man, but what else has he ever done?
Once you’ve made a couple movies where you let a preteen twit drop a sack of hammers on your head, it kinda ruins your credibility.
