Whatever happened to Joe Pesci?

According to his imdb profile he hasn’t done anything in TV or film since 1998. He’s had several major hits so I’m sure he still gets offers. Does anybody know if he’s been battling a serious illness?

(I think it’s about time for a My Cousin Vinnie sequel; if you play just a little with time, Vinnie & Mona Lisa could have a teenage daughter who falls in love with a wrongfully accused gang member or some-such.)

Last time I saw him was on some internet company commercial. He was talking to his “kids” in the style of Goodfellas.

I think Pesci was doing a commercial for Verizon DSL.

That’s bad. When an actor appears in commercials after years out of the spotlight, it means that his/her career is officially over.

I mean, when you saw Pat Morita doing Nissan commercials with a dog, was there any doubt in your mind that he would never, ever get a good part in any movie ever again?

I don’t know about “good parts” but Pat sure is working like a madman.

Here’s an earlier thread

For reasons unknown, this question has been appearing about once a month on the IMDB boards. Never knew there were so many Fish-heads out there.

Damn, is he ever! Still, I’ve never even heard of about 90% of those movies (and nothing since Mulan. I’m guessing that they’re mostly made-for-television and direct-to-video and suchlike.

Just to be precise, Pesci’s commercial was for SBC, not Verizon.

Joe Pesci also owns thoroughbred race horses, one of which is named, Pesci.

When not one fan even bothers to register your name as domain you can be sure your career has tanked.

www.JoePesci.com yields nothing

It’s registered but there is no website. I’m guessing someone registered it early on and tried to sell it to him.

I’m not sure how long ago this was. but he did voices for Claymation Frank Sinatra & maybe several other characters in bottled ice tea commercials (Lipton?)
