Sure, and if he were wanting to ban Catholics because they were Catholic, or Hindus because they were Hindu, a lot of liberals would jump to defend those groups too. Right now, of course, Trump isn’t attacking Catholicism or Hinduism, so there’s no particular need to defend members of those faiths from him.

Again, most of what you criticize is common to other Abrahamic religions. Where do you think “spare the rod and spoil the child” comes from, e.g.? (Hint: look at Proverbs 13:24) Fasting has been common in Christianity for two thousand years–it’s not unique to Islam. Mardi Gras, e.g., and the entire Shrovetide season are still very widely celebrated as the feast before the ritual fasting of Lent; is that so very different from Ramadan and the feasts surrounding that period of ritual fasting?

As to the relative worth of male and female, “for a person between one month and five years, set the value of a male at five shekels of silver and that of a female at three shekels of silver” (Leviticus 27:6). [Now why does 3/5 sound familiar?]

You thus have a vested interest in the ideals of religious freedom and tolerance, as you yourself are a religious minority. I am an atheist as well, and were it not for said ideals, I’d probably be in a prison or conversion therapy for my heresies, instead of comfortable middle class and happy.

So, for both our sakes, please don’t campaign for religious discrimination. I highly doubt you’d be pleased with the outcome.

See because when you don’t believe in anything you can really just do anything you want. That’s why so many serial killers are atheists. Also, pretty much every major dictator you can think of in the modern age as well as that guy who shot up the movie theater in Aurora Colorado.

The evidence is clear. Lack of faith means you have no moral compass. And now they want to teach atheism in schools to recruit our kids to their horrible atheistic lifestyle. de Sade was an Atheist. So we all want our children to be deviants? Rapists!

What’s good about being an Atheist? Honest question? There must be something right? Otherwise we should totally discriminate against them.
