I’m horsemeat, er, no, I mean, licorice. Smooth, a little eccentric, comes in under the radar, and utterly delicious.
Honey vanilla base, tiny cubes of Penzey’s brand candied ginger, red bean paste [smooth not chunky] swirl with a tiny amount of freshly grated nutmeg in the honey vanilla base, with a flat decorative wedge of a good european dark chocolate that has had an abstract rubbing of food grade gold leaf applied at random.
Served in a beautiful opalescent art glass Galle cameo bowl, the opalescent yellow with violet cameo, in the lilac spray pattern.
With hot green tea on the side.
And yes I know thermal shock is hell on cameo glass, but if you chill the bowl, and don’t handle it too much while you are eating it shouldn’t suffer=)
Stracciatella… yummm! Available only in Italy, otherwise, in the states, I’ll settle for plain Vanilla.
