Favorite Ice Cream Flavor

Forgive me if this has been done before, search just gives me a blank screen…

After reading the thread about favorite sub sandwiches (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=771455), I have decided what I want for lunch and now I have to decide on dessert.
I have chosen ice cream to top off my meal and decided on Rocky Road from the House of Flavors. (THAT should pin my location down. ).

So what is your favorite ice cream treat?

Single flavor-French Vanilla
Ben & Jerry’s-New York Super Fudge Chunk
B&J Graveyard-Wavy Gravy

Wow. Wavy Gravy looks good.
I am going to have to try that.

Top of the heap was always B&J’s Coffee Heath Bar Crunch, but about a year ago they decided to eschew Heath Bars due to unsustainable sourcing or GMOs or something (can’t remember exactly) and they substituted a toffee-like substance that doesn’t quite taste right.

So I have moved on, reluctantly, to my second fav B&J - Everything But The…

In the dead ice cream flavors hall of fame, I must mention Bill Knapp’s cinnamon flavor. It was awesome.

Cookies and Cream is my go to, however, nothing is more sublime than a truly good vanilla.

If I could only eat one flavor of ice cream for the rest of my life it would be Bryers Vanilla. But I’d like to have the option of chocolate and mint chocolate chip also.

  1. Black Walnut (when I can find it)
  2. Strawberry
  3. Vanilla (with honey on it)

Blue Bell is my favorite brand.

Maple Walnut and Black Raspberry.

Neither of which is very popular in New York. But they are everywhere in New England.

I don’t eat a lot of ice cream, but I do consider it a vacation treat. When I’m in Maine in the summer, I alternate between the two.

Peach

Vanilla bean

French vanilla

Lemon cream

Chocolate malt

Praline pecan

Rum cherry

Apple crumble

A great vanilla is cream delight, subtle goodness on your palate.
Unfortunately, most grocery store ice creams around here suck unless one purchases specialty goods. $$$
First world problem in living in the sticks.

Bryers makes some great ice cream. I recently had their vanilla over some fresh-baked apple pie.
I was in heaven.

Yes, I am biased since relocating from Houston.
Blue Bell black walnut vanilla. I will sell you my dog for a half-gallon of that right now.
They don’t distribute up here, but I promise her that I will treat her to a scoop or two.

Cookie dough - Blue Bell. Let the ice cream melt in your mouth saving the globs of CD in your mouth until full of CD.

All time fave: Baskin-Robbins Watermelon Ice from the 60s.

That sounds interesting.
Can you expound? I am in the USA.

I like Maple Walnut too but I really can’t eat ice cream anymore . :frowning:

Oh yes. What a delightful feeling. BTDT.

Not to intrude, but why not?
Lactose intolerant? Just curious, no need to explain.
I also like the cheap cholocate-covered dairy bars that I can get from the local gas station. I can get two for a dollar and they are gone before I get out of the parking lot.

Same thing with butter pecan.

I vary, but I’ve been on a butter pecan kick.

Rum raisin is another favorite. My ice cream personality is an elderly man.
