Favorite Ice Cream from a grocery store

Right now I’m eating some Häagen-Dazs Macadamia Brittle. It’s pretty good, but I like they kind I had last week, Ben and Jerry’s Vanilla Heath Bar Crunch, better.

So what’s your favorite flavor? From a grocery store, please. I get frustrated when something sounds good but is only available in Timbuktu.

Hubby’s is Phish Food by Ben & Jerry’s.

Mine would have to be Pistachio Häagen-Dazs.

Buttered Pecan. I guess I don’t have a particulair brand I have to have, any will do fine.

Chunky Monkey by Ben and Jerry’s is the world’s most perfect ice cream!

Hubby and I are both addicted. We have been since we discovered it in college so many years ago.

Ben and Jerry’s From Russia With Buzz. It’s one of their 2Twisted flavors, a mix of White Russian and Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz, and it’s quite possibly the finest stuff I’ve ever put in my mouth.

I gotta second the Phish Food, followed by Brownie Batter, also by Ben and Jerry’s.

Other than chocolate? Dulce le leche ice cream bars, not sure of the brand, Haagan Daz? Might be Dove.

What if it’s only available in grocery stores in Timbuktu? Does that count?

I like B&J’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Cherry Garcia.

Recently, i’ve also developed a real obsession with Haagen Dazs’ Chocolate Mousse, which is part of their “Desserts Extraordinaire” line. It has a great flavour, and is softer than regular HD ice-cream.

B & J’s Fudge Central … mmm, fudge …

At the risk of sounding like a total snore, I have to say my absolute favorite is plain ol’ French Vanilla. Smooth, creamy, golden vanilla… Perfect in cones, sundaes, or right out of the carton while standing over the sink in your underwear. Yum!

The thing I LOVE about Texas: Blue Bell Ice Cream!!

Haven’t found a flavor I didn’t like yet, but the buttered pecan RULES!

I have two favorites: Black Cherry and Mint Chocolate Chip.

A local fave in Western New York: Perry’s “Panda Paws” Ice Cream. Perry’s just upped the ante with its Chocolate Panda Paws: chocolate ice cream studded with mini peanut butter cups and chocolate fudge. And thus the waistlines of Buffalo grow even larger.

Breyers Chocolate or Peach. Heavenly…

I almost always go for Bryer’s Natural Vanilla. I think it has a very subtle flavor, and I like the texture. My wife claims it has no taste…but then, I always claim my wife has no taste.

My favorite national flavor is B&J’s NY Super Fudge Chunk, but my favorite regional flavor is Stewart’s “Crumbs Along the Mohawk”. It’s graham cracker-flavored ice cream with carmel and little graham crackers.

gotta be a tie between “Death by Chocolate” Chocolate Icecream, chocolate swirls and chocolate covered almons
or
“Moose Tracks” Vanilla iceCream, Chocolate swirls and mini peanut butter cups

Honourable mention to Mackinaw Island fudge with it’s bits of brownies. YUM!

Is that the best or what? First time I had From Russia with Buzz, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. <insert drooling smilie here> Some days I don’t want caffeine (blasphemy!), so then it’s Cherries Jubilee (I think that’s what it’s called - it’s the chocolate brownie one mixed with Cherry Garcia).

Only one other ice cream has come close to Ben & Jerry’s, but unfortunately I don’t think it’s available anymore. It was Thrifty’s store-brand “double-chocolate malted crunch.” Chocolate ice cream, chocolate shavings, and malt balls. Mmmmm . . .

I’m trying to be good these days, though, so am sticking with Cascadian Double-Dark Chocolate - gets me my ice cream fix without the extra candies & stuff.

Erm, yeah, so that’s four favourite flavours. Hope I didn’t break any rules there.

My favorite national brand is bryers. It is the only brand I have found that has nothing but the ingredients I put in when I makeit myself (cream, milk, sugar, eggs and vanilla, fruit, etc). No guar gum!

My all-time favorite ice cream in the whole known universe is Turkey Hill Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup ice cream. Chocolate ice cream with swirls of wonderful, salty peanut butter throughout. This is cream is nothing short of divine, and that is saying quite a lot, because I don’t normally like chocolate ice cream. If I can’t get this ice cream in Heaven, I ain’t going.

{Disclaimer: This may be a “regional” ice cream brand. I know you can get it here in SE Pa., where I am from, but I don’t know about elsewhere. Sorry. But if you want some, I can try to send you some …}

My 2nd favorite ice cream is not really a grocery store brand, but if you are ever in State College, Pa., you can get it. Stop by the Penn State Creamery and get some Peachy Paterno ice cream (named for “Joe Pa,” the legendary football coach). Yum! You can even get them to pack it in dry ice for you so you can take it with you to wherever you are headed. Not much exciting goes on in Centre County, but this stuff more than makes up for it.
