What Foods Do You Dislike that Everyone Else Loves?

I don’t like chili. Don’t even like the smell of it. I’ve been told I make good chili, but I can’t stand the stuff.

I have others but the one thing that most people love that I really don’t care for is:

Pasta

I mean, what’s the point? It’s basically a carrier for something else, such as a sauce or vegetables or some chicken. So just give me the something else and skip the slimy dough, please.

There used to be lots of foods I didn’t like. But I like nearly everything on this list. I’m still a picky eater though, because I have a few food allergies (to common foods I like just fine, but that make me ill when I eat them). The only things I still don’t like are things a lot of people don’t like: the gristly parts of meat, chicken skin, etc. And okra. I also don’t like very rare steak, but I think that’s common too.

Ahh, I forgot about this. Me too. I’ve never really been a fan of any type of pasta, regardless of whatever else it’s mixed with.

"Seafood?!? You people seriously imagine that these count as “foods that everyone else loves”? "

Let’s see, whose adverts did I see yesterday, Seafood Shanty, Red Lobster, Outback (featuring their shrimp deal) , Long John Silver and Joe’s Crab Shack (which was also mentioned by a friend).

Somebody loves seafood.

I’ve got a list of things I don’t care for. I can usually ignore them without making too much of a fuss.

But if you want WAR, just add cilantro.

GAWD, that stuff is just NASTY. I don’t taste soap, either. To me, it’s like drinking a bottle of perfume!

And it’s in damned near EVERYTHING. I have to put servers through the Inquisition before I order food, and I can spot it on a plate at twenty paces. I gag at TV cooking shows where the host grabs handfuls of the stuff and says, “Oh, it adds such a fresh taste!”

There’s a website called ihatecilantro.com A person after my own heart!

I’ll try to exclude certain food preparations that I dislike, and stick to foods I dislike in any preparation.

Off the top of my head, I can list blue cheese, papaya, cilantro, avocado, hot peppers/sauce, grainy mustard, cream, oysters/mussels/clams etc., most teas, many gravies, and black coffee.
