What gender are you? Ask the Gender Genie to analyze your posts!

I ran through six articles I wrote for wikipedia. It gave me male scores on four of them (105:49, 186:70, 391:79, 353:222) and female scores on the other two (931:576, 563:298). The two “female” articles were literally that - biographies of female subjects - and the use of pronouns like ‘she’ and ‘her’ apparently confused the software. (The other articles were two biographies of male subjects and two gender neutral subjects; a naval cruiser and a legal case. It was the legal case which received the most masculine score of 391:79.)

I tried several different things, and the Genie definitely thinks I’m female.

My penis is **so **in a snit over this.

panache45’s penis to panache45: ‘Step one: stop using phrases like “so in a snit”…’

I have, Miss.

I ran one of my blog posts through, and it said I was male.

For my posts on here, it really depends on what I’m posting about. For the thread I started about BtVS season 5, it got me right, as female. For a response to a thread about master’s in library science, it said I was male. I just figure that the subject affects how I write and the words I use.

Well, I entered in 4 posts and 2 e-mails with the 2 e-mails being work related.

Out of the 6 entries, it adjudged 5 of them as being **decidedly ** male, and one being:

Female Score: 804
Male Score: 543
The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: female

The 5/6 male returns came as a big surprise to me and I think would come as a big surprise to my friends, family and co-workers who seem to regard me as a fairly girly kind of girl (i.e. long hair, always wears skirts/dresses, etc.) until I read the “key words” used in their “calculation”. Apparently I need to include “she” “her” and “hers” more frequently to up my feminine quotient in their “algorithm”.

Okay. It is now obvious to me that I really need to make a change.

No matter what these types of “tests” are; they always peg me as male. Granted growing up I was always a tomboy, and I have always been more in the mechanically inclined side, I am still very much female.

So what I know how to change the rear axel seals out of a 70 camero. Yes, I can put on a new roof, I can re plumb the garbage disposal when the plumber screwed it up. Yes I can set tile floors and wallpaper and painting rooms is a no brainer. I also know how to turn up an ATM/Frame Relay switch and fiber optics do not scare me one bit. I have threaded pipes, laid concrete and worked with anhydrous ammonia.

I consider myself (and so does my husband) to be an accomplished chef. I look great in dresses and high heels. You will not find a dust bunny in my house, and hardly any other misplaced item. It is hard to balance, but it’s important to me that things are fixed and kept in order.

So why do these stupid tests peg me as being male over female? I say poopoo on these stupid gender tests.

I am female. I am very self sufficent. That does not make me male in gender. I consider myself a diamond. I can do whatever I want, and learn anything I desire and do well in anything I wish.

Analysis of GD posts and GQ post indicate studly maleness. Analysis of IMHO and Cafe posts indicate that I am a womanly woman.

If I fully embrace my female side where will I find sexy pumps for my 13D feet? What will I do about my hairy chest, and flat little man titties that are incapable of filling out a bra? I’m so confused. Am I inter-sexed, bi-sexed, or just a big horse’s ass?

So, how YOU doing?

Three attempts, and all three times I was a female. In the last attempt, I even wrote that I am a male.
Hmm, I’m in touch with my female side A LOT!

I submitted one of my posts, two snippets of research papers and two snippets of short stories.

Post: 23 male, 333 female (submitted as blog)
Papers: 30 female, 270 male (submitted as nonfiction)
Stories: 10 female, 250 male (submitted as fiction)

80% male, 20% female. I don’t think much of their algorithm.

Here’s a snippet they think is female

I fed it 3 of my articles from our cooking site. 3 out of 3 votes to ‘dedidedly female’, which greatly surprised me. After a brief investigation in our chambers Mighty_Boy and I have finally concluded that Gender Genie is full of BS.

Funny enought, my two mates in the cooking site, both females, also came back as males.

It should have read “3 out of 3 votes to ‘dedidedly male’” See, now I am confused.
:smack:

It tends to be more accurate if all of your text is spontaneous.

It found every single post of mine “male”, which of course, is completely inaccurate.

"i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female i am a female " continued to 6000 words. nonfiction.----

(NOTE: The genie works best on texts of more than 500 words.)

Female Score: 0
Male Score: 9000

Yep, I’m a male. Whats up with that?

Runnin’ 50/50 here, with eight posts submitted. Does that make me transexual?

There are quite a few of these “rate you” quiz sites out there that are subject to no peer review and reflect the odd biases of their authors. I submit that this is just another web junkie’s flawed site that offers no real revelation.

Poof.

Huh?

2/3 blog entries marked me as female, 1/3 as male.

My Mom: Shut your mouth! OP was marked as female.
So many of my posts aren’t long enough for this.
