Because, obviously, I missed it. I don’t care about being spoiled.
It’s next week.
Do you mean what happened on Tuesday’s penultimate episode?
Obviously I was misinformed about the sequence. Yes, I do mean what happened on the Tuesday, 18 May 2010 episode.
Starts off with them discovering Lt. Macy’s body - Lt. Macy was the one that investigated Gibb’s actions 20 years ago with the drug dealer -initially the investigation into her death appears to have been to cover up a rape of a young navy officer - during the course of the investigation they find that her notes from that time period have been stolen. Gibb’s attempts to contact Mike Franks to issue ‘Rule 44’, but there is already trouble in Mexico - the solve the rape case, Gibb’s heads to Mexico where he finds several bodies on the beach and Mike’s house smoldering - he leans over one thinking it is Mike’s (It’s actually Col. Bell) , and is then captured by Colonel Bell’s ‘Right hand man’. …
Oh, and Abby knows (based on the prev episode and her trip To Mexico) and asks Gibb’s what to do with the report - Gibb’s reminds her that he’s only ever asked her do one thing ‘her job’ and to issue the report honestly.
SPOILERS GALORE (obviously)
Opens with Gibbs riding a horse in Mexico, comes upon a body, gets down to look, voice behind a gun says welcome to Mexico Agent Gibbs.
Flashback, body found on beach under bonfire turns out to be Special Agent Macey. from NCIS LA pilot and Gibbs’ past.
Macey was investigating Petty Officer who was apparently raped but reluctant to prosecute. Hoopla with that case whether it was rich college kid or two ship mates. Turned out to be rich college kid and his father. Kid was beaten up by ship mates. All of that beside the point that it’s becoming more and more clear that Macey was targeted because of her connection to Gibbs.
Her notebook from days at Pendleton when she investigated Gibbs are stolen from Macey’s mother’s home. Abbie meanwhile keeps trying to corner Gibbs to talk about what to do with her report. (Sidenote what kind of chain of evidence is victim’s daughter handing a bullet from a string around her neck that she says killed her father 20 years ago).
Gibbs tells her there isn’t anything they need to talk about, she knows what she needs to do. She offers to bury it, he says he doesn’t want that.
Evidence points to a disgraced former Ranger (D.F.R.) who works for Col. Bell as being the person who killed Macey and stole her notebooks.
Gibbs decides Col. Bell is on a vendetta to get back at him, browbeats annoying lawyer love interest (A.L.L.I.) who says last she heard he was in Mexico. Gibbs calls to get a message to Mike Franks, turns out there are already armed men at his house.
Gibbs disappears, Vance confronts A.L.L.I. who decides to discard attorney client privilege again and says Col. Bell is out to get Gibbs.
Cut back to Gibbs on horseback, guy holding gun on him is D.F.R., asks him why he killed Franks. D.F.R. tells him that’s not Franks, that’s Col. Bell then when Gibbs ask who he works for he pistol whips him. Concussion to black.
Skald, the full episode is available to watch on cbs.com (I haven’t peeked at the other posts to avoid spoilers - I’m watching the ep now - so apologies if someone’s already told you this.)
Wow. Great use of music* on the beach ride in Mexico.
Dammit, my t.v. will be on a moving van next Tuesday! I’ll have to catch the finale on the website again afterwards…
*Johnny Cash Aint No Grave (Can Hold My Body Down)
Thanks. I hope Gibbs isn’t hurt too bad.
Can’t hurt Gibbs. If anything, that gun is now broken.
I try to live by many of Gibbs’ rules. #9 for sure.
