What happened on this episode of Highway to Heaven?

I remember years ago seeing this tv show. In this episode some guy sold his soul to the devil, and Michael Landon was trying to fix it. He was searching for a special bible that was very old to try and save the guy’s soul. I never saw the rest, what happened?

Well, that’s not the ending I was expecting…

OB :smack:

I searched TV.com’s Highway to Heaven guide for “soul” and “Bible”. I found:

Devil and Jonathan Smith

It sounds like Michael Landon had to find the contract, not a Bible in that episode. He does, destroys it, and the guy who made the contract gets turned into a mouse.

There was one mention of the Bible, but the episode has nothing to do with selling one’s sould to the Devil.

Johnathan had a group of con men try to switch the contract with fake one from Satan’s storefront vault. The whole episode, you are thinking that they are going to get caught, because Satan knows and has set a trap with the police. At the end, the cops move in to arrest the con-men, and Satan is there to taunt Johnathan. He takes the envelope from the vault and tears it up in Johnathan’s face, saying he knows that its a fake and that the one the conmen now have is the real one. The kicker is, the con-men did get into the safe but they never touched the envelope. Satan, in otherwords, tore up his own contract. By him doing so, the old man’s soul was freed. The wormy sidekick of Satans was turned into a mouse before Satan stormed off.

Hey, like there’s a lot of TV to watch at 5:30AM when getting dressed for work…!

Is this the one where Michael Berryman played Satan? Cheesy good stuff, there.

Actually, I shoulda read the link first. It is the one I remembered as well.

Sir Rhosis

ok so what did Michael Landon need the old bible for?

There was no mention of a Bible in the summary I read. Maybe it’s another episode?

In the episode I saw he went to a library or antique bookstore to find " a very old version of the Bible" that he needed for some reason.
