What happened to "Big Trouble?"

Man, I was looking forward to this movie. I had read the book the previous summer during a road trip, and I read it again when I heard that they were making a movie. I love Dave Barry’s work, and the trailers looked good. Yet now… It’s gone.

Is it because it involved nuclear bombs and hijacking and was due to be released after 9/11? I’m going to assume so, unless someone else knows something… When is it supposed to come out now?

According the the IMDB, it’s coming out sometime next year.

I was disappointed as well when this was delayed, but not surprised. After all, it pokes fun at bad airport security, putting bombs on planes, and blowing up New York City (“No Big Loss”, I believe the line from the book is). So just a little thoughtless to release right after 9-11. Loved the book.

I had sneak preview tickets to this on 9/14.

I liked the book too and am a big fan of Dave Barry, but I think the “Florida is a kooky place where weirdly funny thugs walk about” is much better served by Carl Hiaasen. If you liked Big Trouble, then you should check out Lucky You.

Maybe when Big Trouble finally gets released it will be so popular we can see a movie based on a book by a no name like Hiaasen.

How was the movie Green Fool?

Books like Striptease.

I mean a good movie!
Really, how could I have forgotten?

I’m a tad worried that this movie will piss people off even after a delay
