The cable guide says it’s on Sundays at 10, but CBS has been airing some medical drama in that slot, instead.
Does anyone know if/when it’s coming back?

The CBS site says that Cold Case is on Sundays at 10PM, and Three Rivers, the medical drama, is on Sundays at 9PM.
Is your local affiliate playing games with the times?
If you live on the east coast, football delays have pushed CBS’ Sunday lineup back an hour in the last two weeks. So Three Rivers would start around 10 and Cold Case would start around 11. It blows, but CBS just refuses to not air 60 Minutes during football season.
Thanks, jay jay, and Justin. I live in NY, so it must be the football.
I’ll just start setting the DVR to record the whole 10-12 time slot, so it’ll be covered either way.
My biggest complaint with CBS is that they moved The Amazing Race to Sundays, where it is perpetually delayed during football.
Last week they decided not to even show it (in Boston, at least). The game went over an hour late, so 60 minutes started after 8pm, then Amazing Race, then Three Rivers, and then they went right to the 11pm news. I’m not sure if it was ever rebroadcast, or we’ll have to catch it on reruns.
I am not a cop show person, and I had never watched “Cold Case” until about a year ago, when a local station started running CC re-runs at 2 am on saturday nights.
It was pretty easy to catch on to the different characters, and the backstories that they each have were referenced enough that I was able to get up to speed in a few weeks.
I actually have become a fan of the show, and now try and watch the new episodes on sunday night.
It is probably not the most realistic series out there, but I try to just go with it and not over analyze it too much…
Well, everyone knows you can’t make decent time through an NFL crowd; there are always delays. Why should Amazing Raze participants get cut any special privileges?
The thing I like about Cold Case is how well the casting people select the guest stars. The resemblance between the old and young versions of the characters is amazing.
Because they are stars of the moment. Cold Case, as ephemeral as it may be, has some (not much) staying power from week to week. This is a strength when they are presented in syndication: being off a week doesn’t usually cause a major reduction in comprehension. OTOH, you miss a week of a reality series it’s slow to catch up, and a reality series in syndication, with hit-and-miss viewing, is worthless.
AKA: Make hay while the sun shines.
If you can stand to watch shows on your computer…
'Twas a joke, sir – as in, traffic delays from fans going to or from an NFL game, and delays in “the Amazing Race” (play being TAR the show being delayed vs. the race itself).
According to my DVR schedule, the episode of Cold Case that was supposed to air last week (about the death of a 70s musician) is being aired this week, in its usual time slot.* I’m not sure if this means that all the scheduled shows for the rest of the season are being bumped a week.
*This assumes, of course, that this week’s football game doesn’t run over an hour late.
CBS is carrying the 4:00 game, so it’s likely there will at least be some delay.
Cold Case is my favorite show on TV it annoys the hell out of me to have it delayed for football every week.
I find the show is put together wonderfully. The actor selection, the music choices, the continuing background stories for the main characters etc. They capture the innate sadness of people dying and the murderers are given so much character and explanation for what lead to their crime. I also like the justice side of the story where everyone involved in the crime is jailed like the mother with Alzheimer’s in the jail cell with no idea where she is or the outcast girls all being arrested for the arson that lead to their friend being locked in a fire.
Just an overall great show.
CBS.com has clips of Cold Case, but not the full episodes.
That’s what I like about it, too.
I agree about the way they select the guest stars, and also, the music they choose to set the time period they are depicting is usually great, like featuring a show with all John Lennon songs one week, or all Motown songs for an episode.
Finally, I am not usually drawn to blondes, but Kathryn Morris is just stunning…
