What happened to "Cyber Monday"? Few interesting deals out there despite the hype

Well? Was this “Cyber Monday” stuff all journalistic hype? I’ve looked at all my usual sites listing PC & Hardware deals and there’s really not all that much out there of unusual interest in terms of “big” deals or discounts beyond what the weekly circulars have.

I’m vaguely disappointed.

I just read about it being “busy”, not that there’s particularly good deals.

I think it’s just another bit of nonesuch for the talking heads to yammer about.

Ditto. It is the “biggest” day AFAIK in terms of spending, not because retailers are offering good deals.

The idea is that people are back at work where they have access to fast Internet connections, so they do their holiday shopping today, rather than that there were fabulous deals today.

Cyber Monday is just marketing hype:

As the entire internet department of a company that sells many things people like to buy each other, I can say that yesterday was no different from any other Monday-after-a-long-weekend.

Actually, on one of my favorite sites they had quite a few places Monday that had early morning, half day, and day long sales on-line. A few had special codes to enter during that time to get 20% off, or they had special prices listed for the time period.
