I really miss this show…I got lots of good investment info from it, and I liked the discussions presented. Lou was a pretty entertaining guy as well, so I was mad when the show went off PBS. Anybody know if Lou is planning a comeback?
Or did he get wiped out in the market crash?
He did come back. CNBC gave him a commercial free 30-minute show with the exact same format in 2002. He has been off since he had back surgery last fall. In May he revealed cancer had been detected. On October 8 he announced he would not return.
The show continues with guest hosts till December 31.
Jeff covered it.
Louis was, as they say, unceremoniously let go by MPT (Maryland Public Television). He didn’t like it, and neither did his viewers.
He started that thing at CNBC (which I never saw) but now is retiring because of pain/cancer/age.
That was an entertaining show. I used to watch it on PBS when I didn’t care (or know a whit) about finance just because I thought he was funny. He always had a look on his face like he’d just slipped a joke by ya.
He was another victim of not listening to “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it” rule…PBS or whoever was really shitty to him–and the new host they got (and the show) tanked.
Sorry to hear he has CA. I liked him too. Never did understand what those “hostesses” were for, but what the hell…
They are to guide the guest from off-stage to his/her chair. You wouldn’t want the person to get lost, now would you??
Last I heard Ruk and his family are in one of those Gold Collar prisons without walls.
Uh-huh?
WHAT?
or better yet, cite?
