Am I the only one (the only one under 60 at least) who liked good ole Louie?
It’s one thing when the majors replace aging starlets with young talent. But PBS? With this show? On this topic???
I’ll miss ya, Lou. Well, at least till you get another show somewhere else.
Hang in there, buddy!
I’m not going to register to view the article, but wasn’t it more about money than age? I heard Louis used his last show to tell the local station management what he really thought and that’s what got him canned.
Here’s a link that you don’t have to register for, I think. (Do you have to pay for nytimes? I never paid anything…)
Anyway, from what I’ve read they want to replace him for a more “news oriented” “faster-paced” show, basically implying that the show as-is is slower, more “stodgy” if you will.
Well I for one am pro-stuffy and pro-stodgy where Louis is concerned.
He did rip his bosses on the air for what they planned to do to the show, but they were going to let him go before that.
You go, Louis!
