What happened to the Garth Brooks/Chris Gaines movie?

Way back in 1999, Garth Brooks released that wacky album in which he was “Chris Gaines”, an Australian pop star who had just died. It was supposed to be the soundtrack for a movie called “The Lamb”, in which Gaines is played by Brooks. What ever happened to this movie? Is it permanently shelved?

Maybe after the Mariah Carey “Glitter” debacle, the studio heads have realized that musicians can’t act.

I think there was such a backlash against “Chris” that the studio heads did indeed shelve the project. At least I hope they never filmed it.

Surely someone out there has the definite story on what happened to it?

It hasn’t been filmed. It’s hard to tell if it ever will be.

Incidentally, I started by going to the IMDb and searching on The Lamb. This is always the best place to start in researching a movie.

Thanks for letting me know it hasn’t been filmed.

I used to use IMDB a lot, but ever since they were bought by Amazon, a huge amount of errors have popped up, so I just stopped visiting.

Perhaps there are errors, but it’s still way ahead of any other film source. Besides, I thought that Amazon has always owned IMDb.
