That means something quite different on websites I’ve been to. ![]()
Fighting ignorance is taking much longer than we thought it ought.
(kaylasdad99 goes to urban dictionary, looks up CBT)
Yikes!
…and penis ensues.
I didn’t think that was real: I thought that was just another cock and ball story.
Well, I hope in future, you’ll show more deferens.
(testing the new rules) By what fucking metric, motherfucker? In bullet points, double spaced, so even Trump can understand.
A paraphrase of Winston Churchill seems appropriate here: diplomacy is the art of telling someone he’s a fucking idiot and having him thank you for it.
I’m tired of it too.
Right, so go with a theory instead of practice and experience. Remind me how you’re not the idiot here.
Civility, something which people like yourself know nothing of. Fascinating that you would [attempt, piss poor] quote someone whose political philosophy was so different than the nonsense you express all over this board.
He’s not the idiot here.
Uh, you do realize that even on related fields of expertise, like with an issue like drag racing tires, is not quite the same as the one for regular or hitch tires?
It is clear also that the theories mentioned are also based on evidence, trying to use the “is only a theory” argument is something that creationists and other science haters are proud to use.
I seriously do not know how to make it any more clear than what I’ve explained.
The theories presented are based on linear data sets. Not a multitude of different variables at once. They did not collectively account for all of this at the same time; driving over speed, over weight, hot road, personal driving style, varying substrate(concrete, gravel, asphalt, sand, detritus) and heavy braking. No. just whether over inflated or underinflated at or below rated pressure and speed, basically.
Now if one could have a tire that wasn’t intended for the purpose of drag racing (i’ve used small pneumatic trailer tires, among other types on ‘home built’ and modified vehicles) and it survives those extremes with the pressure I set, driving on rough terrain and hot roads and the tires survive, or I put them up to specification as recommended and have blowouts and separation, what do you think I am more inclined to believe? Slightly underinflated pneumatic tires for trailers can even survive drifting on hot roads, something they were not designed to do.
I have discovered this through trial and error. FFS it’s not as if the trailer tires are going to skip and slip from being over torqued when being pulled.
My choice is experience overall rather than a theory tested under limited circumstance. Especially given the benchmarking I have with tires like this. If you have the means to do it safely, try it. You will see. Obviously don’t drop it 10PSI or something idiotic. But 2 or 3 will help, a standard deviation that provides room for expansion. I doubt you will but just for good measure, don’t use pneumatics from Harbor Freight. Garbage at, under or over spec.
I am not beating a dead horse anymore about this subject. If you don’t like it do not follow my suggestion. It’s really that simple!
G’day!
And you wondered what happened to the SDMB??

Do you promise?
Man. So butthurt he got it handed to him in GQ he has to bring the debate into this thread in a classic middle-of-the-night “this is really bothering me so I must get out of bed NOW!” post, one capped with a “and that’s my final word on THAT!” closer… which isn’t even addressed to the people in the original thread he got butthurt in.

Out of curiosity anamalous1, do you know Russia’s history and why conservatives have, since the Cold War until now, always considered them the enemy? Do you know why many countries have them on sanctions? Do you know why they got kicked out of G7? Do you think Ukraine misses having Crimea? I could link to the answers, but I doubt you’d read them because your M[del]A[/del]RGA blinders would get in the way.
You do remember Hilary was accused of Russian ties herself, yes? By our current president? The one who’s all buddy-buddy with the ruler of said nation?
C’mon. Give it a guess. Take a stab at it. Show us you’re more learned and up on the news than we give you credit for.
Hey, we already talk too much about Trump, I want to hear more about tires!
When future historians evaluate whether it was ultimately worth it to sacrifice the republic, they should never forget that Hillary Clinton had a private email server, kind of an annoying voice, and a wardrobe of pant suits.
