My only issue with a Hillary presidency was that Congress would spend all their time persecuting her and not get any real work done …
Yeah … I know … but it didn’t sound quite that stupid back in 2016 …

OP reads like an outraged Stormfront member worried that there’s some conspiracy here covering up what the Jews and the Blacks are doing to destroy civilization because we don’t have a fetish for statistics supplied by the Council of Conservative Citizens.
You’ve got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the New West.
You are aware that the US is one of the least racist countries on the planet, with a Constitution and laws that forbid racial harassment? If you want to see real racism in action try going to Russia, China, France, all of the Eastern European nations, India, I could go on and on. Sure, America isn’t perfect but it’s way ahead of most of the rest of the world and it’s constantly striving to better itself.
I used a similar argument with a cleric, a good-natured, sincere fellow. I suggested that I would go to Heaven not for all my good deeds and faith, but because I could have been so much worse.
I was advised that such “grading on the curve” was not currently a part of any known Christian theology, not was there any such movement afoot.
Be that as it is, as an All-American, flag-waving radical lefty, I agree that we are bestest evah! Bar none! I just don’t see any reason we have to stand still with our hands in our pockets waiting for everybody else to catch up.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Oh, wait. You were serious? Have you been under a rock the last few years?
Deceitful username. You are one of those;
“Anyone who disagrees with me is a Nazi”
You fit in well here.
Is it? I’ve never bothered trying.
Yeah, the “respect” thing isn’t a problem. No one I respect turned into a Trump supporter, and even most right-wingers that I don’t respect didn’t, either.
And no one that I had any prior knowledge of who turned into a Trump supporter surprised me. These are folks who possess an intellectual acuity that should make them wonder where the sun goes at night, except actual Trump supporters have no intellectual curiosity whatsoever so they just assume the sun thing is magic and doesn’t really concern them. Or else they are just such rabid partisans that, although they know better, they just cannot bring themselves to defile the sanctity of the holy “R” that they must always cast their vote for, no matter who it’s attached to. Because, even though they don’t know much (or anything, really), they do know this: even if the “R” candidate is the earthly incarnation of Satan himself, they know that the alternative is some danged liberal.
This also addresses the peculiar proposition of the OP, which is basically, how come this danged board is full of folks who think Trump is some kind of bad man? The man had an “R” after his name on the ballot, fer chrissakes.
So much epic downgrading has been going on here since my debut at the SDMB that sometimes I have to reach for my Meatloaf hankie, but other than that, this thread has been handy so far on cbt variations and African vs. European tires.
What has happened is that all that shit has started to *really *matter.
…[N]ow? We have a president who is clearly in the pocket of a hostile foreign power, who is enabling the worst elements of US society domestically, who is at war with every aspect of the government and civil society that don’t toe his line, no matter where he randomly draws it on any given day, and who is alienating military allies and trading partners all over the world. This is all fundamentally at odds with what Clinton would have done had she won the election. And it all bodes ill for the continuation of the US as a moral influence on the world.
I bolded the end of this fine, tidy summation to suggest more of a flatulent influence on the world. Mainly Merkl and Macron, along with May and Trudeau, seem to be getting more and more…cornered? by the emerging far-right successes in leadership, globally, with the US and преЦАРдент Trump currently spearheading this toxic course. Who knew all this influency stuff was so hard? I guess the Repubs’ moral compass is Paula White? (and appy-polly-loggies in advance, folks, for the source:cool:)

Plan C, exceedingly hot for 55, was a Trumpette, but she moved back to NY so she and her ex could grow old together. Dumb as a sack of rocks, but my how pretty.
3.)Anyone who voted for Trump has a moral and intelligence deficiency
This part keeps being thrown around because it’s true. If you can see a way to vote for a guy like him, ESPECIALLY if you voted for him reluctantly or as a second choice, you are the problem, and it’s because you are either morally deficient or intellectually deficient or both.
If you didn’t vote for him, then open your fucking eyes. Americans are becoming known as a bunch of paranoid fuckwits bowing down to the Russians, thanks to this sickening president and his gang. Is that pleasing you? The entire USA has turned itself into one big echo chamber, arguing over the most pointless shit - the rest of the world is staring at all these American morons and saying “What the fuck do they think they’re doing?” - except for Putin, who smiles because he sees exactly what you’re doing - he knows that bowing down means bending over.
Seriously concerned.
All I’ve seen lately are posts akin to these;
1.) Russia is to blame for everything!
2.)White people are to blame for all that goes wrong in society and everything is racist.
3.)Anyone who voted for Trump has a moral and intelligence deficiency because “we are the unequivocal elite standard of morality and intelligence”.
4.)Ignoring crime statistics and therefore inconvenient facts.
5.)Police are agents of evil. + The justifying of breaking laws.Even GQ has a deficiency of in-depth topics lately.
Thoughts?
Inevitable insults? What gives? Isn’t there anything else to talk about these days or has it dried up?
Questions?
Civility, something which people like yourself know nothing of. Fascinating that you would [attempt, piss poor] quote someone whose political philosophy was so different than the nonsense you express all over this board.
Fuck civility, at this point.
Ted Nugent Says Democrats Should be Shot Like Coyotes – Ted Nugent Says Democrats Should be Shot Like Coyotes
Kentucky GOP candidate threatens to shoot congressman for mocking the NRA – ThinkProgress – We have Charles Nett a Republican candidate for Kentucky secretary of state, saying about John Yarmuth (D-KY), who was boasting about his F rating from the National Rifle Association. “Move it over just a bit, I was trained center mass.”
We have some ex-CIA asshole talking about republicans rising up and shooting all the rest of us.
For years we have had Bushies and Trumpies calling us traitors, and yet they support a “president” who is in Putin’s pocket and who IS a traitor.
We have Nazis running for office and Nazis marching.
We have people calling for civil war whenever they THINK they might not get their way.
So shove your “civility” up your ass.
I’ve noticed. One huge circle-jerk here sometimes. Just a big echo chamber ‘safe space’ for those pounding the sand that life isn’t a fairy tale promised to them as children. Can’t realize that not everyone can be happy and not everyone can be helped not should they in certain circumstances.
I started this post in earnest, genuinely curious, now I’m just irate that some wimpy liberal like wolfpup had to engage with me. It’s almost as if they are oblivious to their idiocy sometimes, so much a moron that they cannot realize they are.
It sounds like YOU are the one needing a safe space.
…not everyone can be helped not should they in certain circumstances…
(Pretty sure you meant “nor”, and read it that way…)
Well, then, any moral responsibility to try is gone! What a relief, how well you simplify! Just cut to the chase, and if you cut to the bone, its probably just as good anyway!
The question is whether suffering can be relieved, not whether it is deserved. That is a question for a higher court of judgement, far above my pay grade. And yours as well, I gently remind.
