Those topics themselves really aren’t your problem. What you’re concerned by is that not enough people here agree with you that (1j there was no foreign interference on Trump’s behalf in the election, (2) that racism is no longer a major problem in America, (3) that there’s no reason to be upset anything Trump has thus far done or said, (4) that statistics prove that minorities are generally more criminal than white people, and (5) that the police and justice system are fair and colorblind.

I used a similar argument with a cleric, a good-natured, sincere fellow. I suggested that I would go to Heaven not for all my good deeds and faith, but because I could have been so much worse.

I was advised that such “grading on the curve” was not currently a part of any known Christian theology, not was there any such movement afoot.

All I’ve seen lately are posts akin to these;

1.) Russia is to blame for everything!
2.)White people are to blame for all that goes wrong in society and everything is racist.
3.)Anyone who voted for Trump has a moral and intelligence deficiency because “we are the unequivocal elite standard of morality and intelligence”.
4.)Ignoring crime statistics and therefore inconvenient facts.
5.)Police are agents of evil. + The justifying of breaking laws.

Even GQ has a deficiency of in-depth topics lately.

2. Nope. I can only speak for myself (as a white man) but the issue is that 'what has gone wrong with white people that they will abandon every moral and principle they have just to hold onto the power that their white skin gives them.

Yeah, the “respect” thing isn’t a problem. No one I respect turned into a Trump supporter, and even most right-wingers that I don’t respect didn’t, either.

And no one that I had any prior knowledge of who turned into a Trump supporter surprised me. These are folks who possess an intellectual acuity that should make them wonder where the sun goes at night, except actual Trump supporters have no intellectual curiosity whatsoever so they just assume the sun thing is magic and doesn’t really concern them. Or else they are just such rabid partisans that, although they know better, they just cannot bring themselves to defile the sanctity of the holy “R” that they must always cast their vote for, no matter who it’s attached to. Because, even though they don’t know much (or anything, really), they do know this: even if the “R” candidate is the earthly incarnation of Satan himself, they know that the alternative is some danged liberal.

This also addresses the peculiar proposition of the OP, which is basically, how come this danged board is full of folks who think Trump is some kind of bad man? The man had an “R” after his name on the ballot, fer chrissakes.

What has happened is that all that shit has started to *really *matter.

Mainly Merkl and Macron, along with May and Trudeau, seem to be getting more and more…cornered? by the emerging far-right successes in leadership, globally, with the US and преЦАРдент Trump currently spearheading this toxic course.
