They were replaying the mini-series this weekend, but I missed most of the last installment. I stopped watching right after Justine was cooking with the German diplomat. Could someone fill me in? I’m not going to rent it so don’t worry about ruining it - I just want to find out what happened.
I’m not exactly sure where you left off, but Dane becomes a priest under the tutelage of Father Ralph. While on vacation with Justine, Dane attempts to save a woman from drowning in the ocean and dies. Father Ralph comes back to Australia for Dane’s funeral, and he is pretty sick at that point. In a very melodramatic scene, Meggie finally tells him that he was Dane’s father, after which Ralph dies.
Justine confronts Meggie with the question of why her mother always seemed to love Dane more than her, and they end up reconciling. Justine marries the German guy at the end.
