Without a Trace finale -- [Spoilers! Big ones with ***** this long!]

I didn’t find the episode very engaging until near the end.

Anyway, I liked the denouement of the main story. Verra sad, what with the sweet innocent idealist being corrupted and destroyed by the cold hard world and all that.

What I really liked was the curveball at the very ending. After the fake with Vivian, and the downer resolution of the missing persons case, the good news over the phone – while something is obviously not quite right.

And the most ironic last words ever: “I’m so glad we could end the day on an upbeat.” I laughed my ass off.

So d’ya think they both snuffed it? One of 'em? Neither of 'em? Considering the target was in the back seat, and the shooters chose to fan from in front instead of choosing a more oblique angle, it sure doesn’t look good.

As soon as I saw that blue van pull in front of the car, I started yelling, “Watch out for the van!” Alas, they didn’t listen. If they aren’t both dead, those guys are worse shots than stormtroopers.

I thought for sure Vivian was a goner. It seemed like the whole heart trouble storyline was an angle for the actress to leave the show.
When Jack went to the hospital, I expected him to come around the corner and find her husband and son crying. I’m glad she’s staying; I like the character of Vivian.

As for Martin and Danny? I’d hate to see Danny get killed; I like him, too. Martin’s always been a bit of a tightass, but if he gets shot and seriously hurt, I bet he and Samantha will get back together.
