What happens if Trump is indicted in Georgia? (Indicted on August 14, 2023)

Is trump going to be required to attend every court session? Surely he wouldn’t fly trumpforce 1 back and forth- he wouldn’t have time for anything else. I wonder if mtg’s house is within helicopter range?
One maybe potential positive thing- if all these soft, well-off buttholes got put away, there would be the first real effort at prison reform in decades.

A little OT, but here’s how I see it all working out. One day trump boards tf1, it heads east, and just keeps going. At one point trump’s entourage retires to to private quarters where they all don oxygen masks, at which time the cabin is depressurized. Eric Prince’s men, trump’s new security detail, emerge and dispose of the bodies.

Throughout history ‘smug doughy loser’ could describe many dictators & cult leaders. What’s astonishing is that they can somehow attract all the followers/worshipers that they do.

What does Beckerwreker’s car have to do with any of this???

Well, I know it is hard to keep track of all the sh-t that went down in Georgia, but that last incident was far from being “previously unreported”: Kanye West publicist pressed Georgia election worker to confess to bogus fraud charges | Reuters

Since there were a number on unindicted co-conspirators, presumably because there wasn’t enough evidence at the moment, I was wondering if something does come up – like one of the 18 turning – they could get scooped up later.

Trump’s indictment in New York was by state authorities for state crimes. He showed up for his arraignment.

And then 2020 came along and he pulled every stop to stay in power. So, not emperor, but “dictator for life” was a possibility that was too close for comfort. What Trump would do in a second term where there was no legal path to a third one is almost unimaginable, and would be even more brazenly malevolent than the growing list of crimes he already faces.

Awesome! (I take it you came up with that yourself?)

Golf clap!

My simplistic layman’s view would only have one question: If convicted, would he go to federal prison or a state prison in Georgia? Again not knowing anything, I would think that a president can’t pardon somebody out of state prison, only federal prison.

Yah never know when inspiration will strike.

Nitpick: onerous?

Can you imagine The Living Hell of being stuck as a Juror? It would probably completely ruin your life for a very long time into the future.

Odious?

Even the GA governor can’t pardon someone out of a GA prison. GA is somewhat unique in that regards.

Regarding who gets the right to actually imprison Trump… I’m not sure how these things get hammered out, but I know what when defendants have both federal and state convictions, they’re typically begging to serve their time in the federal pen because conditions are much better.

So I wonder whether, if Trump’s GA charges really look like they’re going to stick, he may plead out to federal charges to get the most lenient treatment. (I know that will be a tough pill to swallow, but GA state prison is much tougher).

But think about the book deal…

Odious?

I knew I was getting the wrong word. That’s the one.

It does not sound like he’s open to a plea deal (at this point).

It never does, until it they do. (but I’m not predicting Trump tries to cut a deal)
