Not too badly, actually, compared to his contemporaries.
Well done
Okay, I give up. Why is this line well done?
I believe it was a reference to how Trump building a “White House” in Mar-a-Lago would be the equivalent of him building a pillow fort to play in.
Because it is likening to a child building a couch fort.
Okay. Thanks.
Just so. I thought it was clever.
I originally wrote “golf clap,” in <>, but that didn’t show…perhaps golf clap/ is the preferred form
You mean like this?
<golf clap>
No one will take him seriously until he starts wearing a boot on his head.
Yes.[quote=“Senegoid, post:28, topic:928338, full:true”]

Yes.
Ha ha! Not only does <golf clap> work when I do it and not when you do it, but it doesn’t even work for you when you quote my post! I think it only works for people who have some of the right badges or something. All Dopers are equal, but some Dopers are more equal than others!
Gnarator broke two of the Discourse Commandments: Thou shalt place the Mark of the Back Slash before thine command characters that they might be witnessed by the multitudes and Thou shalt not place thine quote tags on a line with any other text.
Gnarator broke two of the Discourse Commandments:
Neither of which explains, furthermore, why my <golf clap> disappeared when gnarator quoted, in full, my post. There is yet another Discourse Commandment covering that!
The difference is that if you use the quote bubble to put the text in, it puts in exactly what is in the post, but if you use the select-text-&-quote, it only puts in the displayed text (sans \s). I think this is why sometimes when someone quotes a post that has bolding, italics or other formatting, that tends to get lost in the quote.

I throw myself at the mercy of @discobot
Discobot, am I forgiven?
Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.
You cannot just shrug something like this off like the whole impeachment debacle.
Hee hee hee. What a crazy time & place we live in. Two_Many_Cats2 said:

As many of you have noted, the real power of the POTUS is in having followers who will obey his orders. If some officials continue to recognize Trump as president and follow what he says while ignoring Biden, things could get ugly. In particular I’m picturing local officials, like sheriffs and mayors in rural areas, doing Trump’s bidding. If this starts to happen, it’ll be up to Biden to put an end to it. Let’s hope that if it comes to that he has the guts to do it the way Eisenhower did back in the 50s when he had the 101st Airborne smack down Arkansas governor Orval Faubus.
But rural sheriffs and mayors have never obeyed any president’s orders - they’re answerable to their voters, not to the Federal Government. Trump won’t change that. What Biden will have under his control is millions of Federal employees and contractors, and countless trillions of dollars. For that, the only people who have to believe he’s President, are the banks. If the money people say he’s in charge, he’s in charge.
Remember: Congress may control the purse strings, but the President signs the checks.

I was thinking more about situations like the Arkansas police chief who was encouraging people to assault any random Democrat that they come across.
