Is it you just can’t sign in? Or post? And do you get an alert when your “sentence”? I can see myself just trying everyday after awhile.

We use a setting in your profile that prohibits you from logging in for a set period of time. You automatically receive an email that this was done.
We would also document the ban in the thread that caused it to arise and in our regular mod documentation.
When the ban period expires, the prohibition is lifted without further effort on our part. I don’t know if you receive a notice of that change or not, but if not, I would personally tickle it to make sure you got an email that the ban had been lifted.

You’re a disembodied non-poster. It can take years to gradually build up your posting presence again. It helps if you have minions who are gradually advancing your plans while you are disembodied, and preparing a restored posting site for you. Eventually you can reappear, but it may be that you will never be able to take a fair appearance again, especially if you lost a body part in the banning process. Watch out for halfling posters.

The system used to send you an email when you were suspended and when the suspension was lifted. Either it doesn’t do that any more or gmail is hiding the emails from me. I no longer receive emails when our test account is suspended.
If you are logged in at the time, you get a pop-up that tells you that you were logged out.
If you try to log in, you get a pop-up that informs you that your account has been suspended, along with the date that your suspension will be lifted and the reason for the suspension.
If the ban is permanent, the pop-up only says that your account has been suspended and does not give an end date for the suspension. The reason for the suspension is still given.
@engineer_comp_geek and @Love_Rhombus, my apologies. I was giving out bad information based on what Discourse says happens when we issue a ban.

You have to wear a red “B” on your chest until two weeks after the ban is lifted.
By far the worst part about finishing your suspension is you have to do the initiation ceremony with the squid and goat all over again. But this time you know what’s coming. It is said your own fears are your worst enemy.
Why not just combine the squid and goat? Do we not have the technology?
