Anyone who knows anything about the posting habits of one SwimmingusRiddlus knows that she posts a LOT. Usually at work. The very astute observer might notice that I haven’t been around that much in the last week. Some exciting things have happened. Mainly:
[ul]
[li]My friends came home from college/junior year abroad! And not just my B-list friends, A-list friends, too![/li]
[li]I got Myers/Briggs typed yesterday! I am a ENFP. My N (which stands for intuitive) was the highest possible. There was one point between my Thinking and Feeling score, so I went with Feeling on the basis of the description. I also struggled a lot with Judgment/Perceiving, as they were two points apart, and the way I handle stress is very J. But I was told that because my N score was so high, N is the dominant in ENFP, and so I went with P.[/li]
[li]WE OPENED LAST NIGHT! Remember I was getting imput from thoughts on an improv-comedy soap opera? It opened last night, we were terrified, but it went really well. And SisterRiddles announced the website address, so I’d better get it workable.[/li]
[li]I took two days off work, after Memorial Day, to give me a 5 day weekend. I got nothing done that I planned on doing, but I DID read a LOT. Used book stores are my friends. I can’t remember to bring books back to the library.[/li]
[li]SisterRiddles is being difficult about driving to NYC the weekend of the 10th. I am thinking of inviting an alternate friend.[/li]
[li]My cat woke me up the night before last by throwing up in my bed. I have never changed my sheets so quickly. Nor have I ever been that skeeved to get into nice clean sheets. I have not talked to my cat since. [/ul][/li]
I know it’s only a week, but did I miss anything?
You actually have A-list and B-list friends? Is this a female thing, or am I missing something?
Reminds me of a conversation I had with my girlfriend:
GF: Who’s your best friend?
ME: Dunno. I have a few close friends, and I like them all for different reasons.
GF: Well, you MUST have a favourite, right?
ME: Uhm, no, I think. Willy’s great for watching football with, Louis is great for having a philosophical discussion with whilst drinking a beer or two, Jeroen is cool because we go carting all the time, and so on and so forth.
GF: Guys are SO superficial.
ME: What do you mean?
GF: Well, you guys never talk about DEEP things in life, you know, the stuff that really matters.
ME: Like what?
GF: You know, your feelings, your fears and hopes.
ME: Well, yeah, we do, but these discussions tend to occur in a different framework. Ya know, we HOPE Schumacher wins the race, yet we FEAR that Hakkinen might. That sort of thing.
GF: You’re useless.
ME: Women…
Sound familiar? And: how’s THIS for a hijack
My A-list friends are the ones who sort of understand me. The B-List friends are the ones who are fun to do things with, but aren’t into discussing, and talking, and conversing. But they’re good to get drunk with, or watch movies.
And Coldie, Tim Allen once did a stand-up act in which he said the following, and I’m paraphrasing. “Women talk about their feelings. They talk about how someone made them FEEL. Men talk about THINGS, and then figure out what that THING represents. Guy 1: ‘What car do you like?’ Guy 2: ‘I like Corvettes.’ Guy 1 thinks ‘hmmm…he’s into power, and flash. He likes to hear the roar of the car, and he likes everyone around him to know he has a car that roars.’ It’s the same thing, women are just more direct.” Suddenly men made a teeeeny bit more sense.
Ah, damn you, Clog boy, you made me hyjack my own thread.
Get over to that Redux thread and straighten everything out!
You were missed.
Not much has happened to me durring your absence.
I (my screenname) was cloned into a second Osip, UpperOsip and other fun names. We all had a rousing good time with THAT troll.
I had a thread dedicated to me OSIP in the PIT! it has 49 post to it. Longer than any thread I ever started myself.
welcome back,
Osip
Uh! Erg! Owie! head hurts
What the hell was that all about?
SwimmingRiddles, you live near Winooski, if I recall correctly. So speaking of books, have you been to the book store in the Champlain Mills? I was there last month and they were having their “once every five years” sale with everything in the store 25% off.
