The combination of Ilsa_Lund’s name and signature give me the impression of a mustache-wearing, cigar-chomping 240-lb man-gorilla … dressed like Ingrid Bergman, complete with wig.
But I’m weird.

Welcome to the SDMB!
Gadget fan?

tanookie is a wookie who likes trigonometry.
Actually I’m a raccoon! I got the name from SuperMarioBrothers when I first started using the net in 1990 and it stuck
Well, you shot my image all to hell. I was thinking along the lines of ‘tan’+‘nookie’, which ought to be petty self-explanatory to anyone with a proper dirty mind…
Yeah that’s what most people think … Especially since it abbreviates so nicely to 'Nookie
Huh? WOOSH
I think Bosda was referring to Inspector Gadget?
I’m so embarrassed to know that.
And while I’m at it:
Anthropomorphic Mouse - cartoon mouse superhero
dangergene - Dangermouse with a DNA helix on front (hmmm… a theme going on here)
vunderbob - an ABBA album
tanookie - I’ll second the Star Wars character, adding that you are definitely a tan extraterrestrial.
Wrong.
Gadget Hackwrench. From Chip N Dale’s Rescue Rangers.
tanookie is that little Japanese raccoon-like creature from Super Mario Brothers 3.
Priceguy is somewhere inbetween Rod Roddy from The Price Is Right and Matthew Lesko - the guy with the question mark suit.
Paperbackwriter is, well, they are John Lennon circa 1967.
A significant portion of my ancestry is Swedish, but ABBA? EWWWWWWWW!
Pass me the brain bleach, please…
Here are some of mine:
No ClueBoy Funny guy with a story to tell Has a blue cap on.
FairyChatMom I think of a woman with pink silvery wings that is leaning over a white picket fence with a coffee mug in her hand. Also she has antennea
Flamsterette-X For some reason that I cannot remember, scares the living crap out of me.
AirmanDoors I think of a blue sky with white clouds framed by airplane grade heavy metal
Bruce_Daddy a guy in flip flops, bermuda shorts and a cold budweiser in his hand. He also has a little kids wading pool in the background that he’s filling up with water from the hose thats in his other hand.
You just described my Dad, except the beer is Old Milwaukee.
Airman Doors Is Jim Morrison dressed as a Navy pilot. I think someone else mentioned this, but this is the image I get.
“Out here on the USS Perimeter, there are no stars. We is stoned, immaculate, SIR!”
lieu– a “loo”–in this case, an outhouse, complete with wooden door & half-moon shaped vent.
There are message boards with an option to give info on your gender.
That can be useful because some people tend to react a bit “hostile” whenever you can’t guess their gender correctly when you reply to their posts.
I was misled by the membername of Ilsa Lund and at first also for EddyTD (until I saw a picture with the horses… So also 3 cats ETD? We have more then one passion in common then).
For the rest I think that I’m guessing right in most cases.

Sorry, that post belongs to an other thread.
I read this one, but I don’t have any image of other posters when reading their membernames.
Someone posted an image of Aldebaran in connection with German/WWI/pilot…
Mmmmm… No. I’m a bit too young for that (and none of my ancestors fit the picture) and I wouldn’t trust myself in a cockpit pushing aside the pilot if I’m not in a suicidal mood. So that part of the story is not applyable.
The part of me being always ready to go rescue a helpless lady of course is.

This has been interesting, in a better-than-counting-the-ceiling-tiles way.
I know I’m just barely more than a lurker, but would anyone be interested in giving me a try? (I’ll probably be sorry I asked…)
A panda standing on a fancy rug.
FWIW
Anybody got one for me, huh? I wanna know.
