What is a candy you haven't had in ages?

Thanks for that quick info on the Sugar Mama.

It sounds yummy.

Sometimes I’d just eat the powder so when I was done with that, I could savor the Lik M Sticks. Oh… I think I’m gonna have to rip into my pack and eat the sticks.

You’re welcome. I certainly would have eaten Sugar Mamas, had I known about them in time. Caramel is just so good, especially with chocolate.

Which is why I still want to try Dulce de Leche M&Ms.
Mmmmm.
DROOL

Dulce de Leche M&Ms? First I’ve heard of them. Definitely need to get some.

I must confess it was odd typing “Sugar Mama” into a search engine. Felt like I was at a personals site for a minute there.

Glucose fiend seeks chocolate coated sugar mama for a sweet night of sensual satisfaction.

Dude, it’s like you know me.

Yes, the whole package is Fun Dip, the candy sticks are the Lik M Sticks. Which I’ll be purchasing tomorrow, I think. Along with some Necco wafers and a Zero bar. Mmm.

In the past year or so a friend and I have been constantly hunting Reese’s Pieces. For some reason they’ve always been an elusive candy. Sometimes you can find the big bags at Blockbuster, but they’re often out (I suspect everybody else buys them out when they have them, too!). The grocery stores never have them in the candy aisle where the big bags of candy are, but sometimes you can find them in the candy bit of the checkout aisle, the little bags. Why are they some kind of pariah candy, when I can go anywhere in the known world and find, say, some revolting goo in the shape of a cel phone or something?

I just have an insight into people.

Um, doy! You stick the Lik-m-sticks into the Pop Rocks! Hello! I thought everybody knew that.

What I haven’t had in a long time are the gigantic Pixie Stix. Not the pussified little straw things; I’m talking about the HUGE plastic tubes as big as a baby’s arm, filled with sour-flavored sugar. The folks used to let my brother and me get one each on trips down to Florida, and we’d be on such a sugar high that we’d be spazzing out for the entire last half of the trip, basically vibrating ourselves through the car seat.

And a chocodile. I’ve been looking for chocodiles forever, and I can’t find them anywhere, and it’s driving me nuts. Anyone who could find me a chocodile, I’d be willing to try Mockingbird’s pop rocks experiment on them.

Zsofia, I’m with you on the Zero bar. YUM!
I haven’t had any of those little wax bottles with the fruit-flavored syrup since I was a little seeker. Or wax lips. What’s up with the wax thing anyway? I can understand the bottles, but are you really supposed to chew on the lips?

Hey, anyone remember Fruit Stripe gum with the little zebra on the package? Gawd, I loved that stuff!

Here lately when the candy bug bites, I’ve been buying Tropical Dots, Spree & Mamba. All super yummy.

Go for the Chewy Spree…oh my god.

What I remember are the Lemon Heads and a similar product in a cherry(? maybe strawberry, but cherry sounds right) flavor.

Those were our poison, along with pixy sticks - and then those suckers that were sort of like a sweet tart, with one color on top and one on bottom. I have no idea what they were called though.

Slo-Pokes and Black Cows. I haven’t seen those in ages. And how about those giant Sweet-Tarts?

Oh, and I’ve had the Dulce de Leche M&Ms - I got them the last time I was in Central America, though.

I have no idea where to get them in the States - I’ve never seen them here.

Loved Lik M Sticks when I was a kid.

But what I really, really miss is the Bar None (not to be confused with the Bar One that I’ve found in other countries.) Anyone else remember these? They were my favorite candy bar ever, and I’d kill to get one again.

(Sorry for another post)

I had some Dulce de Leche’s mailed to me from Texas once, but as far as I know they were just doing test distributions in a few major cities before releasing them nationwide. I don’t think they did all that well - I liked them but they weren’t all that great.

SURGEON GENERAL’S WARNING: Consumption of nerds can be hazardous to your tongue pigmentation. Use with caution.

What I haven’t had lately: Ben & Jerry’s ice cream sandwiches. French vanilla ice cream with 1/4" thick brownies (with nuts).

There’s a small local chain here called The Candy Kitchen. I can’t find a current website for them, but I know that the stores are still there (they’ve opened a couple new ones lately). They’re near the tourist trade on the beaches, but they have lots of different candies at very good prices. They also have what the call “Nostalgic Candies”. You can order packages of candies from the 50s, 60s, 70s, etc. There’s overlap in the packages, IIRC. Anyway, if anyone’s interested I can probably get you info on shipping if your jonesing for some old fashioned stuff.

They may not be as common, but candy (and gum) cigarettes are still available here in Central PA.

For years I’ve been searching for Beechies pepsin-flavored chicklets gum. My grandfather always had a pack in his shirt pocket when I was growing up. I’m pretty sure they no longer make them. :frowning:

Fun-Dip is awesome! I miss the Bar None too. It was Hershey product.

Candy cigarettes have me thinking…

There used to be a few kinds - some were basically the same chalky (horrid!) stuff as Necco wafers made into a long white cylinder with a red tip.

What I really liked were the bubblegum ones wrapped in paper, and coated in powdered sugar. You could blow through them and a little puff of “smoke” would come out. I haven’t seen those in at least 20 years.

And someone’s mention of Lemonheads reminds me of one I really liked - Boston Baked Beans. There were also these weird flying saucer lollipoppish things, except they were like compressed sugar on a stick - sort of like a giant Smartie, I guess.

And it’s been eons since I’ve had a frozen Charlton Chew - chocolate of course.
