i was reading a book about the nazis and it was discussing the makeup of the early party. it said that one of them, can’t remember who, was a real crank mystic, and as evidence, pointed out that he believed in the ‘sidereal pendulum’. So, what is this?

All I can find…
Gubarlett believed in the ‘sidereal pendulum’, an astological contraption , and claimed that this had given him the power to sense at once the presence of any Jews or persons of partial Jewish ancestry, and to pick them out in any group of people. Hitler availed himself of Gutberlett’s mysticpower and had many discussions with him on racial questions.

Here is a very long page where they have a sidereal pendulum for sale:
The Sidereal Pendulum is an essential item in German magical circles. It was used by German magicians like F.B. Marby, S.A. Kummer and Karl Spiesberger for purposes from divination to locating lost objects and many other things… To see your Odic-force in action, one need look no further than the pendulum. Our pendulums are the standard conical shape, made of brass by a master European craftsman, and come with a leatherette pouch (color varies, but generally black). The top part of the pendulum unscrews, allowing the magician to place very small things inside - this is called a witness chamber.
Here is just the picture of it.
thanks to both of you gentle people!
