What Is An Articulated Gyrogorphotor?

I’m at Northern Illinois University and apparently this “tool” got stolen out of a university van infront of my dorm room. They claim the value roughly 13,000 bucks and I looked all over the internet to see what it was but came up dry. anyone know what an articulated gyrogorphotor is??? Thanks

Yeah, it’s a priceless tool used for finding and retrieving items lost behind kitchen sinks.

A misspelling, perhaps?

It’s just like a rigid gyrogophotor, except it has bendable joints in it.

Glad to help.

Not sure exactly what it is, but you needed it to beat the third boss in “Wizard’s Quest” on NES.

Are you sure you didn’t mishear? Maybe what they said was “CD player”.

Seriously, I think you use on either for triangulating a drilling point, or for actually drilling.

trust me its not a misspelling because it was posted on a sign with which i used to post this topic spelling is right on its just a really weird ass word whats up with these moronic answers?

Are you familiar with the concept of humour?

Searching the net brought up this message board thread, but they seemed stumped. It’s a recent thread though, and someone may yet give the answer.

Hmm (based on a very limited knowledge of Greek)… articulated rotating–“go”–light emitter. Could it be something like a laser level, where a laser is spun to produce a reference plane. Maybe a gyroscopically stabilized version?

Whaaa!!! I got only 12.50 at the pawn shop for… oops.

Turns around, sticks chin to chest, puts hands on pockets and walks away wistling nervously.

It’s an offog.

lets hope cecil will come to the rescue on this topic. only one can hope and pray

WAG: does the name of the item’s manufacturer end in -gry?

That’s spooky; I re-read Allamagoosa only yesterday (for the first time in maybe five years).

I can’t believe you guys. Someone asks a serious question and you give him all kinds of funny answers. If you don’t know what it is, just say so…

An articulated gyrogorphotor is a tool used to spin balance a camera lens.

Don’t you people know anything???

Haldox Legomemnon (sp?).

What are the chances that its a college prank, and it was reported as stolen just to giggle at all the people talking about “What the hell is THAT?”

its a segway.

Hapax legomenon.

Which is the term for a word that only occurs once in the entire text corpus of a written language. Usually, only dead languages will have hapax legomena. (Did I form that plural correctly? I’ve never taken Latin.)

Mangetout: Great minds read the same obscure works of SF!
