summer girl?
sun-eyed girl?
He saw her pounding on a vending machine with dark sunglesses… etc.
when I attempted to look up the lyrics online, i got “cyanide girl”. I suspect “sun-eyed girl” but who knows.

I was going to ask this same thing the other day! I wanna know too.
“Heyyy…my sunn-ah girl!”, sounds like.
I think it’s “sun-eyed girl.” It’s a strange little song, but I like it.
Sounds like “sun-eyed” to me, also.
I am firmly for legislation to make it mandatory that all musicians put their lyrics publically and officially on the web. I’m tired of stuff like this irritating me.
The lyric sheet that came with the album indicates he’s saying “My ?? girl”
My Sunnite girl? Maybe the song is about Iraq, on some level.
First I thought it was “summer girl.” Then I thought it was “son or girl.” No idea.
Heck, I thought I heard Sunni girl…
Yeah, the “official” lyrics are inconclusive. I’m assuming it’s a word that only exists in the Becktionary and can’t properly be transliterated to English.
When I’m singing along (which is always), it’s “summer.”
Hollaback.
It’s sun-eyed. Check your Becktionary. My boy knows how to knock out a song, doesn’t he?
Funny; I thought he was saying “You guys will buy anything I release, regardless of its quality” through a vocoder.
And make sure it’s the rhyming Becktionary.
Yeah but is this sunny-eyed girl hammering her bones on the anvil of daylight?
Like Beck ever makes any kind of sense.
Huh, I thought it was “southern girl”, with the middle “th” sound nearly unpronounced.
I don’t mean to ressurrect a long-dead thread or anything, but I was wondering if anyone had heard that he was actually saying “my cyanide girl”? This, my brother maintains, is the reason it is ??-d out of the lyrics. I did not get a chance to ask him if he consulted the Becktionary, however.
