Heard the phrase “frogs porn” in a joke on QI the other night, and google is no help in finding a definition.
Based on the search results, I’ve found, it refers to embarassing sexual videos, probably involving animals, but it’s not quite clear. The joke was about literal frogs porn, so that’s probably not the most common meaning.
Without some context about the joke that you heard it in, it’s very hard to say what it meant. Could it have been a pun based on the common word “frogspawn”?
Apparently a British school official was arrested in 2011 for having some unusual porn files on his work computer. They were of women inserting small animals, including frogs, into themselves. This appears to be where the term “frog porn” entered popular culture.
The term will almost certainly have been frogspawn (i.e. the egg mass produced by amphibians).
Whether this was a play on the words ‘frogs porn’, or some comment on something that was being discussed and is famous for being slimy, gelatinously lumpy or wetly slippery (the physical properties of frogspawn), is impossible to say for sure without context.
Were they by chance discussing bubble tea or tapioca pudding?
Yeah, this. Most British kids come across quite of lot of ‘frogspawn’ in their life if they dig around in enough damp ponds - well, I did anyway. We get a lot of frogs. Damp climate.
We used to collect frogspawn from ponds and rivers and bring them home to watch them hatch into little frogs.
Yeah sounds like a british joke… perhaps because french porn is something to talk about
“here’s some frogs porn”.
What, you are hungry and you eat that while … oh !
Yes, that’s exactly where it came from. I’ll have to remember that site next time I ask about something from a UK show.
The actual joke is “If a bunch of frogs started getting it on, and one of them pulled out a camcorder and started filming it, would that be frogs porn?” Doesn’t really make any sense unless there’s some double meaning for the phrase “frogs porn”, since that’s pretty much the definition of porn about frogs.
