What is happening to this woman in this video?

Blimey. So it could be God, or Satan. Is there any way to tell the difference?

Incubus? WTF!? That’s crazy talk. Anyone with half a brain could see that it was a succubus.

Yes, the gift of distinguishing between the spirits (1 Cor 12:10), which is basically God tipping a person off to who that was from. In human effort, not a chance. Using dark power, perhaps.

What if there are geniune and bogus versions of this gift, and they too are impossible to tell apart?

There is

If the 2 gifts are impossible to tell apart then someone could get themselves in big trouble, like a jeweler not being able to tell a diamond from a cubic zircona <sp>. Best then to get another line of work.

OT: was this a valedictorian? They allowed them to make a religious speech on stage during graduation?

Oh, wait … it’s Texas. I understand.

I think you’re still missing the point. To take your analogy - how can the jeweller know whether he’s having trouble telling the difference between diamond and CZ - if he can’t tell the difference, how does he know he’s wrong?

If he has to rely on someone else’s judgment, and that other person could also be wrong, or worse, could be lying, how does he know if he’s wrong?

The other video that I watched posted by that user involved Christians acting like assholes; this one involved a Christian acting like a loon; you do the math.

Perhaps at the time he can’t. but he will find out over time when people get back to him about it. He will find out that he is being taken advantage of, and losing money. The same thing, if you are deceived, spirits can and will take advantage of that and you will notice loss over time, not necessarily money. Or God can just come and explain it in a way that you understand.

Again this person will eventually notice something is not right, seek answers and eventually seek God for the truth.

or an autobus!

What’s wrong with that? Are religious speeches generally disallowed?

It may have been in poor taste, sure, but a part of me wants to believe that after a four-year college education, people would be able to deal with differences in belief.

My reaction? “Ooooook. Movin’ right along…”

“only in america”

And you’ll be able to be sure it really is God that time? How?

In public school events where attendance is mandated, promotion of religion, even if by a student, has been deemed government sponsorship of religion.

For example, Nicholas Lassonde v. Pleasanton Unified School District, et.al

Or an autolycus!

How interesting. What happens if someone gives one unannounced?

They get a note in their permanent record.

And a thumbs up in their eternal record?

Pentacostal?

Penta-gone.

I’ve been a Charismatic for about 33 years now and that was… odd.

Long story short, she worked herself into being emotionally overwhelmed. I have no problem with a prayer, even a religious message from a student, but she was just over the top.

Unless she actually hurt herself or seemed to be having a seizure, I doubt an ambulance was needed. If her family were present, I think they could deal with the situation. Unless of course they were ecstatically gyrating in prayer out in the audience.

Young lady, there’s a time & a place for religious ecstasy. It ain’t at college graduation!
