What is Hitler's greatest fear?

What was Adolf Hitler’s biggest fear? Was it claustrophobia?

What in heaven makes you think anyone would be able to answer this question?

He is dead, all his near relatives, close friends, and associates are dead.

So we would have to go on information from his lifetime. And while he was alive & leader of his country, they would certainly NOT make any effort to publicize any personal fear or phobia that he had. (They did report political ‘fears’ that he was said to have: ‘fear that Germany will be attacked by other nations’, ‘fear that the Jews are trying to destroy Germany from within’, etc.)

After his death, there may have been something published on this. But since most of his close associates died at about the same time, sources for any such publication would be questionable.

There have been attempts by psychologists to decipher this, based on analysis of his writings & actions, but this seems to be largely speculation. Different psychologists often come up with quite opposite conclusions, for example. Doesn’t seem to be much reliable info here.

Seems a silly & pointlessly unanswerable question.

Being captured by the Soviets and being kept in a cage for display like an animal is often mentioned as his reason for commiting suicide.

Unless you’re the History Channel.

I read a book years ago where this actually happened.

Stalin had Hitlers arms and legs amputated and kept him (or what was left) in a cage suspended from the ceiling in some cellar.

I forget the book title but it was a pretty gruesome read.

Still would have been too good for the jerk.

He was in constant fear of assassinations. As for phobias, that’ll be the jews. He wasn’t just a plain racist, he didn’t only blame the jews for everything, he really had a deep deep jew phobia thing going on, of such bizarre irrationality one suspects madness.

The Berkut; I read it a couple of years ago. I thought the book was rather poorly written and wouldn’t recommend it.

The Riverworld series had a story where some Jews captured him and put him in a cage
(recall death in that series means a Get of of Jail Free card, as you reincarnate in some distant
part of the river)…

You mean the Hitlory Channel? Seems as if I can’t even turn it on without seeing that the next nine hours of programming are going to be about Hitler’s painkiller addiction, undescended testicle and chronic halitosis. Somebody’s obsessed.

I can’t remember where I saw it, but just this week I read someone saying how ironic it was that Hitler ended up in a bunker when his biggest fear was claustrophobia.

So this is generally believed. How true it is I can’t say.

Bears.

Exhibit One for my hypothesis.

That it would dawn on his Aryan Nation he wasn’t blonde.

Whatever it was, I’m guessin’ a mohel was involved.

I have that book and thought it was a pretty good thriller. His semi-sequel, “The Domino Conspiracy”, wasn’t so hot.

Tripping Godwin’s Law by referring to homself online?

Probably cancer. Disease more generally, but especially cancer. Hitler’s mother, who he was really close to, died of cancer, and Hitler restricted his diet out of concerns about cancer (giving up alcohol, tobacco, and red meat, and trying to eat only organic foods. The Nazis also, when they were in power, also engaged in a number of anti-cancer public health programs (anti-smoking campaigns, regulation of asbestos, pesticide and food dye use, etc. Check out Robert Proctor’s “The Nazi War on Cancer”).

Nazi antisemitic propaganda, and Hitler’s antisemitic speeches also used the metaphor of cancer to describe the Jews, fairly often.

Doing Jewry duty?

Boo. Hiss.
