Better to suffer the slings and arrows, dude.
Fear the Walking Dead is a spin-off to the original show.
Per what’s quoted above, yes, we can.
That is the answer.
Good news: Subway has a new spokesman. Bad news: It’s Josh Duggar.
Not quite. It depends. A “this sort of thing would be better in xxxx” is one thing= a “you can’t post here” or 'you can’t post that here" is another.
I was going by the part where Troutman quoted Dex:
And, just to be clear, the following has never been considered “junior modding”:
[…]
- Suggesting a forum change
Suggesting a forum change is not the same as * telling other posters which threads or forums they can post in*.
Note the words “Suggesting” vs “Telling”.
I believe that we’re arguing semantics at this point.
Interestingly I believe vBulletin actually has a Junior Moderator title which can be assigned by admin as with the other titles. I used to moderate a movie forum and and we had a couple of Junior Mods for a while (they took a lot of stick from the members and the title was soon retired.)
Well, I’ll give a go at giving an answer to the best of my ability.
Not quite. It really depends on how it’s worded. Put exactly how D’Anconia words it, we’d want posters to report threads rather than tell another poster “You can no longer post in this thread”.
I mean, that’s what D’Anconia is asking. “Can a poster tell other posters which threads they can post in?”. No, they can’t. That is up to the mod. If you want a poster to stop posting in a thread, report it and a mod will take a look and make that decision if they feel it’s a problem.
As for the “Can a poster tell other posters which forums they can post in?” …again, no. Not really. Taking the question here, verbatim, at face value, a poster cannot tell another one something like “You cannot post in Great Debates or this Great Debates topic with this subject any more” We’d prefer you report it.
But, really, it’s all in how it’s worded and the prime example here is this one (that the OP quoted and used for an example):
Now, me, I would not say that that was an example of:
In my opinion, he’s not telling ANYONE what thread or forum they can or can’t post in. Elucidator seems more so to just be trying to suggest another thread gets started in the correct forum as so that nobody winds up breaking the rules in that main thread.
I can see the argument being made that even that, however, could be a forum of Jr Modding, but in this mod’s opinion, it’s not.
There is nothing wrong with a comment that’s like “Oh, hey, maybe we/you should take it to the Pit” or “You know this isn’t in the Pit, right?” I see those as gentle reminders or suggestions rather than overactingly Junior Modding.
Now if it had been more strong in tone or forceful or more like a directive, like “Hey, take it to the Pit” or “Don’t do this unless you’re in the Pit”…then yes, that would be Jr Modding.
So, TL:DR answer: I don’t think what Elucidator did was Jr Modding. YMMV.
I think if it was been a bit more strongly-worded, it might have been.
No, no poster has the right to tell any other poster what forum or topics they can post in.
I don’t think Elucidator was doing the above sentence either.
Thanks for the feedback, Idle.
There’s a forum for that, you know.
