What is that button (or badge?) they are wearing?

My neighbor and I watched part of The Hearing. Neighbor noticed that many congresscritters (or maybe, he thought, it was just Repubcritters) were wearing some kind of badge or button on their lapels. We wonder what that is.

Here is a photo I came across in an on-line article at Raw Story in which the object in question is visible, though not in clear close-up detail. It is the round thing on the lapel of the guy in the middle.

What is that button or badge? Can anyone link to a photo that shows it up close in more detail?

Members of the House of Representatives get lapel pins that they can wear so the Capitol Police immediately recognize them as members.

Aha! Thank you, Lord Feldon.

Do Senators get lapel pins like this too? Do they get a different pin so the cops can tell who’s a Rep and who’s a Senator?

Heh. Here I was, hoping ITMF lapel pins were being worn.

Are you sure it isn’t this?

A Cthulhu lapel pin for Repubs?
