I just got this really cool new mouse with my new imac. I am wondering what this kind of plastic is. I could not find anything about it on the internet though. Is this a kind of ABS plastic? It looks like glass, but obviously it is made of some kind of plastic…

Hard to tell without actually having it in hand, but it could be either lucite, acrylic, clear polystyrene or just about anything else. If I had to guess, I’d say lucite, since it’s pretty tough.

I found another page refering to it as “polycarbonate”. Does that sound right?

Could be. That’s the same stuff CDs are made out of.
