Favorite?

Groundhog Day

The Shawshank Redemption
The Silence of the Lambs
Apocalyse Now

I’ll second ** The Right Stuff**

Screeme’s Top 10 (In No Particular Order):

Braveheart
Amelie
Almost Famous
Clerks
Fight Club
Moulin Rouge
Dead Poets Society
O Brother, Where Art Thou
A Clockwork Orange
Star Wars

This is one of those impossible questions to answer. I mean, to just pick ONE??? Forget about it! The best I can give you is my top 10…

(in no particular order)
Fight Club - Very strange, inspirational and anti-“establishmental.” Hard to believe it was made by a major studio.
Shawshank - Some of the greatest quotes to ever come from a movie.
Braveheart - Epic in scale and inspiring.
Sixth Sense - Scary, dark… and beautiful. The scene in the car at the end is GREAT!
Se7en - Amazingly dark and disturbing, yet brilliant. Great ending.
Magnolia - Strange, sad, funny, moving. It’s like a poem. Amiee Mann’s song in the middle… OMG!
**Raiders ** - This movie took me to a completely different place as a kid. Totally changed me.
Close Encounters - see “Raiders.” I’ve never been more “in awe” than I was when I watched the last 20 minutes for the first time.
Contact - The most realistic “are we alone?” movies out there. Jenna Malone’s performance was amazing.
Usual Suspects - Brilliant script and acting performances.

Someone actually liked The Thin Red Line? I’m shocked. I’m speechless. I’m boggled. The mind reels.

The best movie I’ve ever seen? Dunno - Schindler’s List, probably. Easily the best, though not my favorite. That’s a whole 'nother hard question to answer.

I’m still boggled.

Snicks

Pulp Fiction, the two towers, the matrix, fear and loathing in Las Vegas and last but not least Reqiuem for a dream

The Shawshank Redemption.
For me, no other movie comes close (and I own over 140 movies, so that’s saying something).

Singin’ in the Rain… I’m a sucker for a musical!

That movie was great!

you know what, I’m gonna chanbge Ferris Bueller to #2 and make Fight Club #1
Plan 9 from outer space is #3

SLC Punk! is # 4

I thought The Sting was good. Good story, kept me interested. There were few improbabilities to swallow. Great ending, an audience “sting.”

This is in contrast to that worthless, lousy, no good, sidewindin’ snake in the grass piece of nothing, The Thin Red Line.

Blade Runner, Reservoir Dogs, Heathers - stock answers, just depends on what day of the week you’re asking me. (Today it’s Heathers)

The Iron Giant and Huozhe deserve honorable mentions for being the only films to wrench moisture from the barren, emotionless desert of my tear ducts.

It is nearly impossible for me to choose. There is such a wide range of genres–it’s hard to pick one over another.

That said…best movies I’ve ever seen:

**American Beauty
Amadeus
Shawshank Redemption
Jaws
Schlinder’s List
Beauty and the Beast
Aliens
Steel Magnolias ** best chick flick ever!

I love SLC punk, but Id keep it off my top 10 list.

In addition to Blade Runner and The Thind Red Line, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is also up there.

It did get nominated for best picture, somebody’s gotta like it.

I am going to change my answer:

MIDNIGHT COWBOY goes to #2

SCHINDLERS LIST is #1
SHAWSHANK goes to #9,999,999

There are “somebodies” who like to be beaten with whips, too.

Yeah! Ferris Bueller’s Day Off kicks ass.

I think my favorite would have to be The Shawshank Redemption

I also love Out Cold, that is one funny movie!

Oh and I almost forgot about Saving Silverman. That’s probably the funniest movie I’ve seen.
