What is the best song that begins with the letter K? See rules in OP

Rules:

  • Submissions are limited to 5 per person.

  • Exclude articles such as “a”, “an”, “the”, etc. that begin the title. Example: “The Hokey Pokey” belongs in the H poll, not the T poll.

  • Exclude titles that begin with punctuation, such as an apostrophe, parenthesis, etc. We already done that.

  • You must include the artist (not the composer, unless they are the same person) or your submission will not be counted.

  • Polls will appear in this thread once we reach 100 or 150 nominations, depending on when we hit a wall.

  • Classical releases are excluded.

  • Final poll, also in this thread, will narrow the field to 10.

Too late to edit and change my vote, but I only just thought of one of the best pop songs ever, Abba’s “Knowing Me, Knowing You”. Does anybody want to take it from me?

K-K-K-Katie - WW1 Geoffrey O’Hara

Traditional so author is performer

OK. Not a lot of 'K" songs in my favorites, but enough.

Knocked Down, Made Small - Was (Not Was)
Kern River - Merle Haggard
Keep on Tryin’ - Poco
Kentish Town Waltz - Imelda May
Key to the Highway - Derek & The Dominoes

Missed the cut, but I’d love it if they made someone else’s best list:
Kick Out The Jams - MC5; Killing Floor - Howling Wolf; Kiss Me Deadly - Lita Ford; Kind of a Drag - The Buckinghams; and Keep Me From Blowin’ Away - Linda Ronstadt

and Warren Zevon.

Oh man! Politically incorrect earworm!

I would’ve taken both, but I’m also already over my cut.

The KKK Took My Baby Away

Much as I’d like to replace this on the list with one of mine, it qualifies. Here is the author actually performing the song:

The KKK took my babe away, the Ramones.

Kicks, by Lou Reed at his coolest.
Kill Your Sons, by Lou Reed at his darkest.

Kooks, by David Bowie ti lighten it up.

King For A Day - XTC

My list:

Kalinka Malinka - Ivan Rebroff

Killer Queen - Queen
Kiss From A Rose - Seal
